I know a few train drivers. While there’s responsibility involved, it’s not difficult. Orange light = slow down, red light=stop, green light= go. Stop at the correct station, open and close doors. A boring and lonely job.

This. Some people are faux outraged at mention of a pay raise for anyone. They won’t be fucking happy til everyone is miserable.
