So, who's striking today? Which Side are You On

You keep repeating this. Some people may be content moving from one menial job to the next, but it’s not for everyone, especially anyone that may ever have a partner or children, but good for you.

What kind of financial illiterate are you? They are haemorrhaging money and you’re ok to give them a pay rise without any requirements on their side?

Can you buy cans on a bus?

6 months ago - 60 euro return - 10 mins late leaving - Delayed on the way back by 20 mins.

Why did you decide it’s the workers fault? And why can’t you follow the earlier post?

Well then tough shit if it’s not suitable for them.

I think the real reason is that their demands and current conditions are unrealistic to what they may get in return for their work in the private sector. You seem to look down on people who work menial jobs as well.

Why would you want to buy cans on a bus?

Finally we get to the real story. They mugged you off good and proper you thick ignorant Cork fucko

Hon the traindrivers

Odd how you’re now championing a company ripping off a paying customer?

Well then, they deserve a pay rise.

I didn’t say it was their fault. I am saying the company cannot afford to give pay rises. Only a financial illiterate would argue otherwise.

And you’re advocating a pay rise for providing such a shit service?

If you’re too thick to book online it’s your own fault.

Why can’t you stay on track?

It was a last minute journey due to a medical emergency, mate - They didnt have a last minute option when I was getting my tickets.

Why are they hemorrhaging money? Is it because the supplement they get from the government has been cut and has not been restored or is it that management are wasting money?

As far as I can see Management in Irish Rail are doing a shit job on the finances and on the improvements in the service. I mean it is still taking the same amount of time to go from Dublin to Cork as it did 20 or 30 years ago.

I bet they can afford to give pay rises to management and nice bonuses as well.

They don’t, they would not get their demands in the private sector. Instead they will try and bully their demands through by holding the general public to ransom. I think that’s crass. Nobody is tying them to their jobs, if they don’t like it - leave.

I bet they are allowed apply for other jobs too, the reality is they won’t get as good a deal as they are currently getting.

It’s amazing how public sector workers moan so much at their working conditions and pay yet then never move from it.

I suppose this would explain one of the reasons why they are losing money.
