One for the Northerners but if anyone has info that might help then great. Heading up to Cavan for a few days and looking at Greenways to go cycling with the older kids. I found this map (below) but hard to decipher it. Ideally looking for a dedicated track to cycle on, any tips or pointers would be great, thanks.
if you can get to the kinsale hotel and spa - you can dine upstairs on the balcony and drink a few with a tremendous view
Did the ZipIt high wires and zip lines in Farran woods today with the family, brilliant few hours CV of entertainment, kids couldn’t be more pleased with themselves, they have them
In a few places around the country, highly recommended
Then called to a couple that’s be friends of ours and live close enough to our campsite, just necked 7 bottles of Heineken (very nice) while the kids hung out with rarely seen pals
Had lunch on Princes street earlier, spent 30 minutes in Waterstones and strolled through the market
A lovely day all round
Spike island tomorrow
Where are ye pitched up?
We got a campsite in Glenbeigh for a few nights the end of July, then Westport for a few nights in August.
Zippit a great day out. Did it couple.times with my kids, brilliant for confidence building.
B&J have done it a few times, love it. Think there’s something like it up in Castlecomer which we’ll try next week.
We’re in Blarney, nice and central really to explore Cork,
The site is clean and quiet, nice pitch and putt course on site,
Not great for kids with the way it’s laid out but we’ve not really been here much to be honest
It’s a great TFK tradition when @backinatracksuit hits around the country with the family for the summer and documents it. It’s up there with @mickee321 and his previews of European club games in July and August.
Go in and see if he gives you a bottle of Heineken for €1.80 and throws up a free tapas in between every round you order …otherwise tell the cunt to change the name of pub…
Spike Island is brilliant, the tour is class and the views from the ramparts are fabulous, the history of the island is fascinating, well worth a half a day if you’re in Cork this summer.
Cobh is looking really well and has upped its game with lots of food trucks etc all along the waterfront, music in the bandstand etc.
Connemara next week for a full week
Spent the weekend in Blarney, took a trip to Kinsale and Garretstown strand. Stunning
they’ve got Spike spot on - from the boat out - to the tours. It’s fantastic
Connemara guys, based in Recess.
All guidance gratefully received, will be booking some activities in Killary later on today,
4 kids (girls) 8-14 along with us
Diamomd Hill is a very handy hike. Several levels too if kids get tired and need to bottle early. The views near the top this weekend will be unreal.
Dogs Bay about 2 miles from Roundstone on way to Ballyconneely is a beautiful beach.
Would you cycle this - probably too challenging for the younger ones and the roads are narrow enough with cars

Few places around there would do pony trekking
Connemara National park has nice walks
Great seafood in Mitchells Restaurant in Clifden - head for lunch outside
Nice walk in ballyconneely
And can see lighthouse
Yea and scones in Ballynahinch Castle
My pal Stokey Walsh did a stretch in Spike Island back in the day. Said it hadn’t a lot to recommend it.
There are some brilliant activity parks in Fermanagh & the Stairway to Heaven is meant to be great
Have a pal gone up there yesterday, said it’s absolute smashing
