Staycation - Limerick's hard on for anything Kerry

You canā€™t go wrong with Kerry @Juhniallio

I would recommend a drive around Valentia, thereā€™s some great viewing spots.

What age are the kids?

This place is in Kenmare. Kenmare is a lovely liitle place for a walk around/pints/food as well

Thereā€™s a pet farm near Killarney as well.

A day walking around Killarney, the park, the waterfall etc is a day well spent.

On the way up or down, the aquadome in Tralee has reopened, good for kids, slides etc. Fairly dated now, but does the job. Or Crag caves in Castleisland, they have a play place and a few other bits.

In Caherciveen you can see the only church in Ireland named after a lay person

This is a fine spot and well run all told. Again, booking essential iirc.

A trip up all or part of Mount Brandon is class too, even if you only get up to the parts of the German plane.

What about the rope bridge and all the dinosaur and animal carvings?

And a trip over the Conor Pass which he can tell the kids is named after Conor McGregor who walked home to Dublin this way from Las Vegas

Dingle is glorious, but not much use to a man in Caherdaniel now

Itā€™s akin to telling somebody in Dublin to check out Bunratty Castle

Going ā€œfor a driveā€ in the rain is what staycations are built on.

Fire em into the back of the car and hope for better weather across the next peninsula.

The sailings can be very unpredictable. They wonā€™t bring you on if they think you mightnā€™t be able to get off. So itā€™s impossible to plan. Youā€™d want to be staying down around there and then chance on a good calm day.

This is heaven. TĆ” an ghrian ag scoilteadh na gcloch, local beers and an impromptu music session at one of the tables.

I got rightly mugged off one morning on that pier. I asked group of 13 or 14 year olds was it safe to jump in. They said yes. Just as I went to jump they all roared no. I nearly broke myself up going in.

Picked up a few bottles at the Brewery on the way home. I think @Smark was looking for this previously.

Thatā€™s the stuff I was looking for around limerick. I only ever had it in a bottle what was the draught like? Iā€™ll be down that way in a few weeks myself.
