The view of the TriĂșr DeirfiĂșr is the most iconic in Kerry in my book
Draught was savage to be fair. The right pint at the right time. But like most of those ales I wouldnât drink too many of them in a sitting.
Steamer
I stopped by last year.
Any lad who hasnât done it - Slea Head with E-bikes, pals and pints is as good a day as youâll put in on Earth
Dingle is Kerry, Kerry is Ireland, Kerry is living, not existing
On Slea Headâs cliff, the wind does dance
Caressing the land in a wild romance
Green fields roll into the endless sea
A tapestry of beauty, forever free.
Oh no. Now I have to like Roy Curtis
My favourite was when he described dingle as a palace of joy
Oh, the town, it climbs the mountains and looks upon the sea
At sleeping time or waking time, itâs there Iâd like to be.
To walk again those kindly streets, the place where life began,
With the Boys of Barr na SrĂĄide who hunted for the wren.
I was in Flannerys of Shannon street midweek there a while back and the auld lad was with me. As he is wont to do he started talking with a group of randomers. Turned out they were from Dingle. Anyway he says to them yeâll surely sing Barr na Sraide half joking.
He hadnât it said then off one of them went. Like he was sitting there all night waiting to be asked. He gave a great version of it. Wasnât his first rodeo
Fixed that
Prick
Dingle is now blemished with that gobshite staying in it.
Any of you attending the stag of the year in Dingle this weekend?
Iâm not
Spike is driving me down later
Iâve a bed to myself, thank God.
Thatâs defeatist talk.
The assent of Brandon is cancelled also.
Too windy for mere mortalsâŠâŠ
