@Rocko can we get some sort of register of issues so we can know where to attack lads?
Iām colourblind
And a cunt.
#MeToo mate. Itās a burden that never gets any lighter. We should get extra money for golf tees at the very least.
The pirate clique are bigger than we imagined. Records will be updated accordingly.
Im truly sorry to hear the issues youre going through. Youve taken a bold brave step by revealing your thoughts to to the bunch of virtual cunts you need to follow that up by disclosing them to real people. A number of lads have outlined a number of services that can assist you in this end.
You also need to get out and about both for the exercise and fresh air but also so as youre not sitting at home alone thinking things over and over. Start to build a support network and go from there. You may only be getting light in one eye but its light nonetheless. Grab it with both hands and cling on to it
@Cheasty canāt add much to what the others have said. It took guts to write that post. You might be rock bottom now but the wheel always turns. Try and get some professional help. Thereās a bit of wisdom around here too sometimes. You are not alone.
I play with a blue one and I still canāt find the fucker
Best wishes @Cheasty took a lot of guts to write that post.
Would really recommend talking to a professional as soon as you can, getting the thoughts āout in the openā always helps
Take care
Iāve carefully avoided this thread for ages because thereās never any positive news and todays myriad of posts confirms that.
A brave, erudite post from @Cheasty and one that took guts to write. Itās like that loonball Michael Harding, ignoring friends and then writing them letters that he doesnāt post in reverse.
A positive first step but much much more needed. Take the positives from the situation and build from there. Get out, meet people while you wait on progress from the relevant health department. If this isnāt progressing quickly get onto your elected representative- pester the shit out of anyone who can help.
Avoid, in so far a possible, over-indulgence in liquor, itās horribly distorting and ultimately will impair your judgment and ambition. Itās currently bad news.
There isnāt much point at this juncture in looking back, thereās fuck all you can do about yesterday - you can only shape tomorrow. Youāre not dead, you havenāt gotten a terminal diagnosis, merely a setback. A grave one but not fatal, youāll have to muster some reserves and come out for the second half the way Armagh came out after half-time in 2002.
This is your Joe Kernanās plaque moment. Good luck, you have a battle ahead of you but youāre well able for it. Weāre here for you.
I honestly think that post will be the start of your recovery @Cheasty. Great credit to you for putting it out there.
I was genuinely very sorry to hear about your eye condition when you mentioned it a week or so back as I did have a very good friend of mine who had a similar condition in the past. My wifes grandfather also had a similar problem in both eyes a number of years ago before he passed away as well. It is a horrible thing to happen.
I donāt really have much advice but i would say donāt be so hard on yourself. Speak to a professional as soon as you can. There are some great resources out there as the lads mentioned earlier.
Best of luck, mate.
I genuinely appreciate every kind thought aimed at me here today. The real generosity of human kindness here is humbling, especially given the way Iāve so liberally and unfairly insulted a lot of people here over the years. It means a lot and it genuinely helps.
In the immortal words of Jack Karnehm, good luck mate.
@Cheasty ive had you on ignore since your crusade on Covid but even though you present as an agent provocateur youāre a solid lad underneath it all. Hope you get through this rough wave and come out swinging hooks in all threads.
An eloquent and thought provoking post @Cheasty which I hope will be the catalyst to an improvement in your mental health from itās current state. Like others said, get the help you need, talk to family members and donāt be afraid to open up to someone. Meditation can help too to shut your mind and get your heartbeat and breathing relaxed and help prevent any panic attacks that may be affecting you
In the long term, and Iām no expert by any means, give yourself something to look forward to and to take your mind off the trouble that this crazy world we inhabit is increasingly getting into; Iām talking travel, finance permitting, or returning to education or something along those lines to throw your energy at.
I always enjoy reading @Cheasty musings on sporting topics. Better than 95% of sports journalists. Extraordinary memory for details.
@Cheasty Knock those demons out of your head, you need to take all those feelings you presented there and bring them to someone who sees this everyday in every type of personality and go through the process, grief is like a leech it feeds away on the mind in tandum with depression but it can be recovered from with help be that family, friends, professional or all three.
For my own part I am well able to pour on the toxicity through posts when it comes to yourself, it was wrong on my part to mock your current situation and not knowing how dark things truly are for you.
I hope you find your way out of these empty feelings sooner rather than later and it will be back to posting inane stats by the time Qatar and Ecuador kick off the opening game of the WC and this will be behind you.
Donāt worry at all, it was a fair assumption to think I was getting on grand given I was posting a lot and me feeling low isnāt anything to do with any throwaway comment on here.
I made a comment on here to KIB Man years ago on the subject of this thread which was way worse than anything ever aimed at me and honestly it was fucking shameful and what was worse I never apologised it for it.
Best of luck @Cheasty
You probably already know it, but you are by far my favourite poster on here and i have a genuine sense of excitement when i open my notifications and see you have replied to one of my posts.
On your eyesight, i would definitely be seeking second and third opinions. Many people have sustained terrible damage to their eyes and recovered to live normal lives. You are still very early in your journey and while thereāll be twists and turns, i have no doubt youāll be back to the full of your health before you know it.
I really hope you are better soon and look forward to many more insightful discussion with you.
