Summer Transfer Window 2009
Michael Owen said today that he will definitely leave Newcastle United this summer and will be prepared to move abroad if a deal with a Premier League club cannot be agreed.

“I can’t see me staying at Newcastle,” Owen said.
Think he is officially unemployed in a couple of weeks.

See him being linked with Hull. How the mighty have fallen.

Liverpool look to be winning the race to sign Glen Johnson

Nice quote there from Peter Storrie, Portsmouth Chairman

“Glen has obviously had a fantastic season for us and has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the league if not the country at the moment”.

Many good right backs in the conference these days?

That Roque Santa Cruz deal has gone through. Strikes me as rather odd. Santa Cruz and Barry are hardly players that will help Manchester City get into the Champions League, are they? Unless they’re confident of snapping up some really premier players like Eto’o later in the summer too.

With Tevez likely to sign as well, I wonder how long before Craig Bellamy throws the toys out of the pram…

Real Madrid have made a renewed bid for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso and expect to sign him in a 30million deal.

That would be a step backwards for Liverpool in my opinion, by far their best player last season. Cant see a whole lot of options out there to replace him with…Bringing Gerrard back to a central role is not the answer.

Thought Alonso was a proud Basque.

If he goes forget about Liverpool next season. I see Mascherano is making eyes at Barcelona at the moment also.

This tax law is having a big effect.

don’t blame him for leaving.
being used as a potential make weight for gareth barry can’t be good for your confidence.

Man City have signed Stuart Taylor from Villa. Cunts taking all our best players.

Joe Hart is expected to go to Birmingham on loan. Good signing as Mike Taylor is shite.

who is stuart taylor?

The whole Alonso thing stems back from a game in the 2007/08 Champions League campaign (can’t remember which one) where Xabi refused to play as his wife was about to pop.

Benitez then tried to ship him out last summer because of it. And Alonso got the hump.

Either way he was brilliant last season and answered Benitez in the best way possible. If Liverpool lose him then it is a massive, massive blow.

Are you telling us that Alonso got the hump because the bird was losing her bump? Hi yo!

melberg not good enough for a decent league it seems

That was last summer’s news NCC. Please keep up. Had heard he was doing well at Juve but presume he sees Greek football as a better standard.

Daniel Sturridge has gone to Chelsea with the fee to be determined by tribunal. A hell of a lot of hype about this kid. Havent seen anything to justify it and I’m wondering what kind of a chance he will get at Stamford Bridge either.

Gaetano D’Agostino’s off to Juve

Manchester City will make a 15m bid for Everton centre-back Joleon Lescott in the next 48 hours.
