Was Glenn Loovens partner at Cardiff during their Cup run. Johnson is better than Loovens though but no worldbeater either.
MON after ex Celt Simon Lynch
Canât see it happening, Lescott has been a revelation at Everton who are a good and stable club whereas Man City is no more than a circus.
Stoke have joined the race to sign Michael OwenâŚ
shouldnât be too hard to catch him with the injuries and the serious loss of pace
A perfect strike partner for Delap
Stoke are in talks with West Ham about signing Dean AshtonâŚAshton looked a decent player in the making before breaking his ankle training with England, probably just lacking that bit of pace needed but would suit Stokeâs style of play
Ashton is a crock. A fine player, but unable to get a decent run going.
Donât need much pace to get on the end of one of Delapâs long throws anyway. I thought Ashton looked really good before that ankle break, surprised West Ham would let him go, unless they know he wonât get back to his best. That said, Iâd have thought they have a good medical set-up, seeing as they took a punt on Irish wondercrock Terry Dixon.
Real Madrid have signed Valenciaâs Raul Albiol for 13 millionâŚ
Some fall from grace. He was linked with the likes of Villa before his injuriesâŚ
If they get him fit he could be a great signing. He can hold the ball up well, has superb technique and will score goals. Lacks pace though.
SSN were saying that he has only started 33 games in three seasons with West HamâŚ
Glenn Loovens has apparently caught the eye of Birmingham. Iâd be wary if I was Alex McLeish of buying players based on their sterling performances at SPL level, particularly defenders. Loovens did partner Johnson at Cardiff though so it may work out well.
Will McGeady be the only decent player left in the SPL next season?

from my limited viewings of the SPL, Pedro Mendes is the classiest player in the league, by a distance
Wouldnt surprise me. Mendes was on his last legs at Pompey by the end of his time there. Probably a bit like Lineker going to the J league or Okocha to Qatar. That last pay day can spur them on to new heights.
Mark Yeates has gone to Middlesboro. This lad was getting rave reviews a couple of years back so hopefully will work out well for him. Has a touch of the Andy Reid syndrome which Trapp wont like.
Is he fat?
A bit pudgy anyway.
Long shot for the World Cup squad - you heard it hear first. This lad has talent.

Talent without application will get him to where Andy Reid is. Hereâs hoping he learns.
