Summer Transfer Window 2013

The same agent has also claimed Juve have turned down a €45m bid for Vidal - they must be nuts. Bayern are a disgusting football club, I hope Dortmund destroy them in the final.

Bayern have spent an obscene amount of money over the last 3 years. Anyone have a list?

Yeah I read those quotes earlier. But if it’s not finalised then I can see Dortmund doing everything imaginable to stop it. They’ve denied this evening that there’s anything final and have said they’ve no interest in money.

Is the Gotze transfer set in stone or is it merely an agreement?

They have indeed but it’s less than Manchester United, who we are told didn’t “buy the league”.

Edin Dzeko leaving city according to himself on twitter. Bild breaking the full story late tonight.

Looks like Dortmund.

Lewandowski’s replacement. So is he going to Munich or Manchester? Utd are making it plain they are interested which would be unusual if they think they have no chance of getting him. Would love to see him play for Utd though it may see Rooney leave to make way for him.

Shame to see Dortmund get broken up like that. I can’t quite remember back that far but did the same thing happen to the Valencia and Depor sides of the early 00’s?

Not really, Deportivo just peaked, they lost Roy Makaay to Munich alright but the likes of Valeron and Tristan’s form dropped off massively.

Valencia Lost Kily Gonzalez and Hector Cuper to Inter and Medieta to Lazio but Rafa won a couple of leagues and Uefa cup with some of the key players like Albelda, Baraja et al

Yeah, good remembering. I was trying to think of some other teams. Aberdeen in the 80s maybe…but that was probably just Strachan and Ferguson leaving. I’d say there was a Red Star or a Dinamo side that broke up that was full of stars but I suppose that was different. It’s a thing that always interests me. Like Jordan Rhodes leaving Huddersfield this year. If he’d managed to survive on 10k a week he’d probably be in the play-offs to go to the EPL with us. But the little cunt chose the 30k at Blackburn and possible relegation. A shame more than anything. I hate when bigger clubs ruin good teams who’ve operated on a modest budget. I’m an old romantic, I guess.

Red Star were fairly torn apart. Jugovic went to Sampdoria, Prosineski to Real Madrid, Mihilovic to Roma, Savecevic to AC. There was probably more

The Porto side that won in 2004 was fairly broken up within a season as well. Carvalho and Ferreira to Chelsea, Deco to Barca, Maniche, Derlei and Costinha went to Russia

The Ajax team with Seedorf, Davids, Kluivert et al was fairly decimated. The De Boer cunts couldn’t wait to leave.

Parma team containing Crespo, Veron, Cannavaro, Thuram and Buffon was decimated.

I think Dzeko is a better striker than Lewandowski personally. City just don’t play direct and expansive football that suits his game as well as the lack of continuity he gets there. I’d expect him to do really well if Dortmund get him.

It was but they gor big money for every one of those players though IIRC

And were in financial turmoil not long after.

Indeed, wasn’t that due to the family/owners business going bust. Parmalat?

Yes. A similar enough incident happened with Lazio and the Cragnottis around that time.

The Liverpool Echo, who don’t tend to post up too much tripe, reckon Liverpool are interested in Michu…

Where were they last summer when they could have got him for 2 million despite him scoring around 15 goals in La Liga?
