Not really, Deportivo just peaked, they lost Roy Makaay to Munich alright but the likes of Valeron and Tristan’s form dropped off massively.
Valencia Lost Kily Gonzalez and Hector Cuper to Inter and Medieta to Lazio but Rafa won a couple of leagues and Uefa cup with some of the key players like Albelda, Baraja et al

Yeah, good remembering. I was trying to think of some other teams. Aberdeen in the 80s maybe…but that was probably just Strachan and Ferguson leaving. I’d say there was a Red Star or a Dinamo side that broke up that was full of stars but I suppose that was different. It’s a thing that always interests me. Like Jordan Rhodes leaving Huddersfield this year. If he’d managed to survive on 10k a week he’d probably be in the play-offs to go to the EPL with us. I think Dzeko is a better striker than Lewandowski personally. City just don’t play direct and expansive football that suits his game as well as the lack of continuity he gets there. I’d expect him to do really well if Dortmund get him.
