Super Blues 2017

It will be a great night - The Cark lads are only delighted to have a Munster derby back and will bring a good crowd… I’ll have a half/half jersey on myself.

Live here, guys… http://mixlr.com/limerick-soccer-live/

Jabowezz go one up .

Real Mountjoy doing the business it seems for the live updates on ET

Lolzer

How did we manage to lose that? Supple was very good to be fair, but we’ve got to be more clinical than that. Bohs are limited enough but when it came to it in the last 20 minutes, we played right into their hands. And there is a soft centre in our defence, we can be got at.

But very poor onfield intelligence from our players, and poor from Russell. Lynch wasn’t particularly good today, but when he came off, the whole thing fell apart. No shape, Mulhall did alright as his sub but was just knocking down balls to nobody… this happened again and again, was plainly obvious to everyone except Russell, it seems. Bizarre.

We still played alright, but we’re going to have start taking our chances. And if we learn anything from this, it’s never take Lynch off again or if you do, replace him with a like-for-like player. His movement and just the way he buzzes around in the hole make him invaluable.

Duggan had a nightmare, Kelly was poor, Turner was shocking in the second after a bright first half, Ogbene had a good start but faded, maybe should have been left on for longer. Hery was the best of the Limerick lads, along with Robson.

Disappointing, but we’ll learn and move on.

Absolute shite.

We really need to be beating Harps on Saturday.

Have to win tomorrow, hope the weather picks up.

Never take Lynch off again.

Maybe bring Kenny or Clarke in for Turner. Not much else we can do tbh.

1 down to Harps :confused::confused:

Fuck up by Hall… Harps just missed a sitter for two.

Awful half there. Lucky not to be 2-0 down. Lose today and Tuesday and that’s four defeats out of five.

Optimism after Sligo game has well and truly dissipated.

Ttttooooooossssssiiiiii

It’s something… Need to start with Lynch moving forward.

Over, 1 apiece . Ok in second half after dreadful first . Team still a work in progress .

The point is welcome. They’ll improve throughout the season.

Harps are a horrible team to play against. A bunch of cloggers at the back. They’ve enough going forward to trouble teams. Cork scraped a 1-0 win up there a few weeks back.

Time to drop Freddie. He’s costing us goals. Brendan Clarke deserves a chance.

Didn’t play well but unlucky not to nick it with the header off the post at the end.

Hard to see us picking up anything in Buncrana on Tuesday night.

Sounded like yet again once teams press us high we turn it over easily - Harps tired second half and we dominated the last 30 or so minutes. Martin has to be more compact, at least for the first 20 minutes until we grow into a game - We also need to fire it forward early at times and look for a break instead of trying to play it out and letting teams squeeze us. Lynch and Tos seemed to link up very well once Lee Jay came on and I think that’s the way forward. You win the match first, then Martin can gowel around showing us how clever a manager he is.

What the fuck was Russell thinking today? How could you look at the last 20 minutes of the game against Bohs and persist with that? Lee J makes this team tick, dropping him for a striker is just clueless. Harps love playing against team who flight the ball long, the way to beat them is to go through them and Lynch is by far the best player to do that.

Also, Ogbene would have been the man to take them on, rather than Clarke. His pace & physique would have had them on the back foot, and I don’t understand how he didn’t even come on.

Taking off Hery rather than Duggan was baffling aswell, Hery was by far the best player on the pitch and Duggan had an absolute nightmare again. That said, O’Conor did play very well when he came on, charging around the place, livened things up.

Some of the Limerick players didn’t look fully fit, the closing down was very poor, we lacked tempo- Duggan, Mulhall, Clarke are all capable of so much more in that department.

When Lynch, Turner & O’Conor did come on, we finally looked a threat. I have no idea how it took so long though. I wouldn’t have really been in favour of sacking Russell, just because of a lack of alternatives, but the last 120 minutes of football in the Market’s Field have been bad from a management point of view.

And Hall, disaster for the goal. Clarke will surely come in now. No point signing a quality backu if you don’t use him when the alternative plays shit.

.

And Williams MotM over Hery? :joy:

I’m hearing from a very well-placed source that Martin Russell is a mere bad result or two away from getting the road?

Couldn’t believe he took off the French Tom Huddlestone. He was easily our best player. Not sure what’s up with Duggy, he hasn’t started the season well at all.

We were bad enough at the back in the first division, never mind now minus our best defender in Paudie O’Connor. We are all over the shop and just can’t defend. Whitehead always has a mistake in him. We kept one clean sheet in the whole season two years ago and we’ll be lucky to match that this year.

Great ball in by Turner for the equaliser. Paul O’Conor also did well when he came on. Ogbene should have been utilised today. Harps only had hoof ball merchants at the back. Tough to play against. They give you nothing easy.

Four points from four games is a disappointing return. Especially when three of those are home matches against Bohs, Sligo and Harps. Lose to Derry on Tuesday and away to Bray next Saturday and the alarm bells will sound.

Would still bite your hand off if offered 9th now.
