He’s in the highest paid public job in Ireland but as I’m not sure what you do for a living I can’t answer that with certainty.

Like yourself I’m not the highest paid civil servant in ireland but I am also more qualified than a cable technician from eircom.

Its disgraceful the money he is on. A quarter of that would be a bit high tbf

I think the point is that his salary is obscene. He is head of a dysfunctional and incompetent health service in a small country yet he his paid more than the President of the United States.

He’s worth every penny, there would be companies queuing up for his services from England otherwise

Murphys construction

To paraphrase Denis O’Brien when he endorsed Dela for the top job in UEFA or FIFA…

…Paul Reid could run the WHO.

In fairness you’d have to admire any man that goes from being a technician in Eircom to head of the health service

I find him quite a likeable character to be fair

Certainly better than Sepp Blatter (Mike Ryan)

He’s be gone before the tae at 10

He must have some serious dirt on some senior politicians.

Reid’s suits always look very cheap and shiny, and he’s the only person in Ireland still sporting those ridiculous shirts where there’s a different colour collar and main body. Or else a colourful shirt with big navy or black buttons. Huge, big pointy, angular collar jutting out with an open top button and then the type of gaudy suit you’d expect some no mark football agent or influencer to wear. He also has a bit of a Rio Ferdinand lip going on - he often looks like his top lip is having an argument with his bottom one when he’s speaking. The cunt should be sacked.

If that’s what you’re comparing him to, then it’s a low base. I presume Paul remembers his own name and doesn’t have to take a nap every two hours.

He’s like an urban Liam Sheedy

You pay peanuts …

They clearly had to pay him that much to secure his services from running another health service or some other private sector role he was in line for.

Much like John Delaney we’ll only know what we had when he’s gone.

Having said that, I heard from a few sources that appoint Robert Watt to dept of Health was a real light bulb moment and big things are expected.
