Notorious? And you are asking me to go get scientific evidence?

Fuck off you bluffer.

You are most likely one of these goons who did his ACL and want to put it down to “luck”. Physios and the like will tell you what you need to hear but its all bullshit.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Yes I am asking you to give scientific evidence.

Just one proven, published study will do.

The only really common theme about ACL injury is that there is alot of early season bias in most sports, largely due to insufficient preperation. Very little evidence to point to surface. In fact in some cases poorer weather left less injuries. This may have to do with timing of season rather than the actual weather or surface, again a lack of preperation could be implied.

A bit out dated but i can’t see much changing.

Still all points to preperation and conditioning for the speed of games.

The surface plays a huge role, soft ground is way better but many GAA pitches have hard spots in fields where drainage is better or grass was replaced by turf. I only ever see full back line/full forward line players do acls in bad conditions, the part of the field which is often the most variable in ground condition.
It’s all related to mechanics, recreational skiing and women’s basketball are two sports with the highest incidence rates. Two sports with bad underfoot conditions. One highly variable the other rock solid.

You absolute bluffer. Who gives a fuck what you think you have seen. Colm O’ Neill, an inside forward did his knee at 3 different times of the year. Gooch did it on a perfectly good surface (his strength was his weaKness, years of decelerating sharpely wore his acl)

Skiing injury is mostly due to the amount of people who have never skied before.

All women are more prone to ACL, its due to their physiological make up. Women are anywhere between 4 & 10 times more likely to do an ACL. I was with a female team last ywar and it was the first year in 6 years there was not an ACL. I’m on my 5th post clinical rehab just starting today, thats within a year of starting up. I have testomonials from ACL clients about how they were faster and stronger than ever after training with me. I’m not unique or i am not claiming to have licked it off the ground, but what me and people like me are doing now will be the norm in a few years. ACL’s will be reduced but also rehab will be reduced.

I have been preparing teams for 20 years. There is little or no luck in injuries. Surface does not have an overly positive or negative affect on ACL injury. It is all about getting the athletes resiliant and robust enough for the level they play, within whatever environment against any opponent. Thats S&C in a nutshell.

Fatigue is a huge reason for any injury, your brain works slower, you don’t move correctly, you don’t land and fire the correct signals to protect your body. Being fatigued means you did not prepare enough. Games speeding up is anpther reason, again not preparing for this leads to injury.

That’s a clamping.

So fatigue is the cause for most injuries? Fair enough I can see a logic in that although a lot of injuries can be contact injuries or just sheer bad luck.

Saying that fatigue is a sign that your preparation is unsatisfactory is fucking ridiculous though. How come some of the fittest and most well conditioned players are susceptible to injury?

Some players are just unlucky, if sports science was the be all and end all then we wouldn’t have top level athletes reaching out for specialist help around the world eventually succumbing to injury.

“It was a freak accident, I was going in for a tackle and the Dungourney player hit me accidentally on the outside of my knee,” Aylward told KCLR96FM.

Was he drunk?

He was playing Junior Hurling wasnt he?
