You have to remember that Tyrone team were knocked out of the Championship by a Billy Sheehan inspired Laois in 2006. Thats a dark mark that is very hard to shake.
Tyrone used to take years off in between and then come back hell for leather while Kerry were always there or thereabouts
Had Sligoâs David Kelly scored a penalty in Tralee in 2009, Kerry would have exited then. Also Longford ran them close the round before.
Then they met the Dubs in the quarters and thatâs all they needed.
Sligo beat them in 2002 as well,
Mayo in 2004.
Laois in 2006.
Meath in 2007.
Cork in 2009.
Dublin in 2010.
The only team they were sure to beat was Kerry

Agree. tohill was outstanding in 90âs but not as prominent after millennium⌠Soem man to field a ball with the arms stretched out in front and his body in between man and ball, making it impossible for anyone else to get even get a fist to it.

When Tyrone were in a bearpit in early May, Kerry were already gearing for the last 8 with challenge matches against Tipp, Limerick, Clare, Waterford and Cork.

He was an all rounder as well. Often popped up in the forwards. Even took their frees for a spell. Just a class act.

Did he last long on sunday game after he called tomas o se out for blindsiding stephen Kelly of limerick off the ball in 09 or 10? Kerry folk cried conspiracy and that he had agenda against them
