TFK exclusive: Donal Og's Gay
Why was he robbing the house in the first place you numpty.

Cork is disproportionately open and honest compared to the rest of Ireland you mean.

It’s funny though, you’ve never been here, your only real interaction with Cork people is on a website. You haven’t a clue about what you are talking about. Most foreigners who have travelled Ireland or lived here for any length of time always pick Cork and Galway as the best places they had been to.

And we know how much value the Irish put in what the foreigners think of us.
Because he had a gambling problem?

You’re an urbane, modern and civilised citizen of Ireland’s cultural capital mate, but there are plenty of ignorant dickheads left about the place. Sadly this is still relevant.
Or maybe in Cork we have an open and warm, welcoming society
Has your arse ever given an open and warm welcoming to a fellow Cork man Kev ?
Seriously though Donal Og needs to knock this “gay and proud” shit on the head.

Right you’re gay - now get on with your life ffs sake
I think it’s about awareness tdb. I don’t agree with him on everything, but I think his motives are very genuine to help others. He long beyond thinking about what others think of him.
As well as the fact it’s likely that RTE hounded him to do it for a few years and he eventually got the time and they have him a load of money and free travel to do it. Why wouldn’t he?

Why?

Cos I really don’t think many people care anymore Glas to be honest with you.

No, I’m not that way inclined tdb. I realise it’s a stretch for a Leitrim man to understand Cork society, but you should come down some weekend. I’ll bring ya to a club hurling game, maybe a west cork football game as well, bring ya to some of the great pubs we have. And maybe hit the gay nightclub after, it’s not as scary as you think. You’ll find the gay lads know a straight lad off the bat and won’t go near you.

Assuming you are straight of course.

its sickening that a statutory body is using someone like Donal Og to make a documentary

It was a joke kev.

Been to Cork. Didn’t like the city but enjoyed Clonakilty.

I’m not from Leitrim btw - a Fingal man I am

huh?

Why did he have a gambling problem?

Because his bets weren’t winning.

This is true. My problem is that I just assume that everyone is as liberal and cultured as us, mate.

You need a local to be going out with in Cork.
Clon is good alright, quite bohemian although getting a little saturated I noticed with wannabes nowadays.

Further west is better. Skib, Union Hall, Rosscarbery, Baltimore, Ballydehob.

He is gay - fair enough. Each to their own. That is his own business. Shouldn’t bother anyone what someone else gets up to in their own spare time.

It’s just every few months Cusack comes out with this “I’m gay and proud” stuff. Constantly repeating the same thing over and over. We get it, no need to keep harping on about it.

He’ll be all over the media during the gay marriage referendum no doubt.

Again I repeat each to their own. I dislike him for his antics during the hounding of Gerald McCarthy and would feel the same if he was straight.

Homophobe.

No because he was escaping and chasing solace somewhere, because he had shit bottled up that he felt he couldn’t unload.
In a year or two when he has a bit of football played he’ll do a big exclusive nod explain it all.
Most addictions are escapism. What was he escaping? Tyrone.

South West Ireland seems uniquein that respect.

To be fair- No one here know’s whether he was pushed to do this or if he sought it out. So you can’t really use that as a stick to beat him. It’s just the gay thing is sooooooo 90’s. But then again, there are lot’s of little inbred villages around the place that still fast from meat on a Friday and would violently attack you for wearing a scarf.

Strong community/family values mate. Very loyal people. Them bonds don’t break easily.
