Thanks @rocko and @Mac. @HBV you’re just being childish now.
His “I’m going to call posters out” routine is getting a bit stale and samey. Time for a change of approach for the spotty headed mutant.
You’re just selecting against the new site in your odd example. When was it ever one click on the old site? That would bring you to the last post (same functionality as here) or to a random page number. If you never had to scroll down to see what posts were on that page because your phone is the size of a television then you might feel a little short-changed. If you always managed to correctly stumble upon a post that you wanted to read which wasn’t the first post and wasn’t the first unread post and wasn’t the last post in a topic, but just some other post, then I’m afraid you were just unbelievably fortunate in your random clicking on the old software and I’m sorry your luck has deserted you since.
If your use case is that you see a topic that had 20 pages and it had new posts but instead of going to the last post you just went to page 17 to see if you’d read posts on that page or not then your use case is strange and not how most people read this or any other forum. You didn’t know how many pages you had unread without clicking into them so you always had to go to first unread and then advance with more clicks if you wanted to skip some. It’s not different.
I’m going to leave the pages issues for now at this because it can’t be changed and I think the “problem” is overstated.
A clamping and good and proper mugging off all rolled into one for poor @glasagusban there.
I’m anti-pagination and a firm advocate of infinite scroll myself.
When are we really moving?
How do you see what posters were replying to if they haven’t clicked the second quote button? For example, I received a notification that Spidey had replied to a post of mine but then because he hadn’t quoted my post, I can’t see what he is referring to.
Agree
For fuck sake

PM him and ask I suppose.
I thought I was being clear, relatively, on why I preferred the old way. I also thought having a time value in the blue box would address this. This was by way of feedback. Thank you for clarifying that I am, indeed, talking shite, and that my preference for how things were before was wrong.
Can I prefer clicking to a random page on a thread to typing a random number into a box?
By the way, I appreciate the new design is more sophisticated and exciting for you. It looks good. In terms of functionality I’m not convinced yet.
He was slagging your sister
Informative
Why don’t you address your query?
Address it to:

@rocko, is there anyway to see feedback on the number of posters and the number of posts being made in comparison to the last board? Maybe a sample size of the last 4 weeks of the last board and see how this one does when it settles down a bit? Just seems to me that it is a bit quieter here, not as many threads being bumped and seems a good few havent made the transfer over for one reason or another. I dont need to see it, but I’m sure you’d be interested to see if there is a spike or drop in posting.
The first 2 days were busier than the previous 2 days and busier than the corresponding days last week. But having a long feedback thread might be padding those stats a little! I have all sorts of stats that I can share.
Meanwhile tfk.thefreekick.com/users is a useful link for activity on current site.

You are fairly clear. I’m happy to get the feedback, I wouldn’t ask for it or engage with it otherwise. I do think you’re exaggerating or overstating the extra work involved in scrolling but perhaps you have less manly wrists than the rest of us.
