If we worked backwards from corner forward canning would have been picked at 14.
That’s who I went for.
Which would have been wrong as Seamus Callanan is a far better full forward, if not a better overall hurler
ah here
come on ffs
JJ Delaney and the stats agree and that’s good enough for me
Gerrymandering is fine as long as it comes up with the right result.
I’m not getting what you don’t understand here? It was said from the start that a player can only be picked once, so for example if JJ Delaney was picked full back Paudie Maher probably would have been wing back.
You’d only be happy if Canning was in every position in the forwards I think as you seem to think of him as some kind of God rather than someone who was often snuffed out of games at full forward and has been far better since having more freedom out in the half forward line
Gerry Mandering was a decent half forward but you couldn’t shoehorn him in here for the sake of it.
Richie Mcarthy made shit of Seamie FFS. Serioulsy tho, stop
Joey Holden made shit of Joe Canning ffs
I think we would have gotten the same results as the overriding logic would have been the same. Lads purposely did not vote for Shefflin at 11 in order to accommodate all four of him, Canning, Shefflin and TJ in the side. Personally I would have liked to have seen Shefflin get 11 as it would have led to a bit of heated debates for the other spots as someone would have to have lost out but the majority ruled otherwise.
John Hanbury made shit of callanan
He conceded a penalty with the only ball that went in
Yep, he was in Baird’s Bar before one of those Milan or Barca ties around 2006-08. A fierce nice chap altogether.
He broke Callanan’s brain.
Thanks. I have voted accordingly.
Richie McCarthy softened Callanans cough in 13 and 14.
