Thatâs what attracts him to @the_man_himself . The YouTubey nature of his style. Itâs why the man himself always had a soft spot for Cian Lynch as well because of the needless flicks and tricks. Brendan Maher is tipps best player of the last decade he is phenomenal.
Thatâs undoubtedly true
I donât recall Noel McGrath hitting much ball in the Munster Final last year.
Youâre trying too hard pal.
Not too many hurled too much ball to be fair, but the subs that day tell the tale.
Subs: Niall OâMeara for Breen (HT), Robert Byrne for N McGrath (54), Jerome Cahill for OâDwyer (61), Barry Heffernan for Barry (62), Mark Kehoe for J McGrath (65).
Brendan Maher is an excellent hurler.
David Burke is an excellent hurler.
Cian Lynch is better than the 2 of them.
There really is no shame in it.
Lynch is better than Burke. He could be better than Brendan Maher.
Some lĂșdramĂĄin described David Burke as average. 4 All Stars and a man of the match in an AI final.
Some lads shouldnât even be allowed a vote.
Democracy brah.
Heâs already better than him. Athletically superior, better first touch, better vision, better tackler, better at winning dirty ball, better passer, scores more, creates more scores. Iâd like someone to tell me in what aspects of the game they think Maher is superior to Lynch in? Aerially, maybe. David Burke is actually closer to Lynch ability wise than Maher in my opinion.
Itâs OK like, Maher is still possibly an âAll Time Greatâ, heâs just not as good as Cian Lynch.
David Burke is a super hurler. Ridiculous talk.
I just think Cian Lynch is a better hurler.
He has do it in games that count over a number of seasons. Thatâs the way I look at these things. Lynch is very good but he still needs to go out and do it on the pitch. He could end up a better player but at the moment he isnât.
Perfectly valid pick. I think Fennelly was a cert and there could have been any of 3 or 4 for the other spot.
It was the Leinster final. Think he was half on his knees scoring it. Amazing score.
Fennelly and David Burke all day long for me.
Tom Kenny and Brendan Maher outstanding as well.
Sure if thatâs the case the whole thing is incorrectly set up then, players who are only playing for 3/4 years shouldnât be included in the poll, all players should have minimum 5 years played. Thatâs a completely different discussion to who is simply a better player.
And Lynch is better than Maher as a midfielder in every aspect of the game except aerially perhaps.
He explained that in the opening one. Itâs why hannon isnât nominated.
Hannon has played centre back 2017, 2018, 2019
Lynch has played midfield 2018 and 2019 (pretty certain he hurled in the half forward line in 2017 and 2016 and started out corner forward)
He hit a rake of it in the AI Final.
Brendan Maher has an ability to win a lot more soft frees than Paudie.
Some serious forum heavyweights voting for Lynch there
