TFK International Business Travel Thread

I try not to drink during working hours or on a school night. It keeps a lid on things, but I may have wan tomorrow on the way home.

Tomorrow is Friday sure

Are rub and tug bars relatively commonplace stateside? Watched a number of Japanese businessmen wander into the private area of a bar last night for these. 80 bucks a pop

Broken already :grimacing:

Yes, have to transit through Newark

I’m having a torrid trip, guys. I’m on continental Europe. The nearest airport was 50km outside the city I’m visiting. No taxis when I landed. Rain bucketing down. I spent 30 mins faffing about with Uber and Free Now before resigning myself to getting a bus. That dropped me off at some shitty central train station. Again no taxis, torrential rain. Thankfully some enterprising young Asian men were selling umbrellas to people getting off the bus and I managed to get a large umbrella for €13 (RRP was €20 but €13 was all the cash I had). I managed to walk in the direction of my hotel before finally flagging down a taxi.

Need to put all that behind me now and read my notes for tomorrow.

I was in NY recently for a conference and went in through Newark. I found it far more pleasant than coming in through Queens.

I’d say it’s fine if you’re landing there. Transiting through there is pure hell. I’m currently in Boston on the way home and it’s so much smoother and easier. On a side note, Denver airport is possibly one of the best organised airports in the world from what I’ve seen.

Atlanta right up there as well considering it’s size

Newark is a no brainer for flying in and out of New York. Philaedelphia airport is a pleasure as well.

Red eye from Frankfurt tomorrow. Not ideal preparation ahead of a county final Sunday. FML.

I hear you. I had a 2.5 hour early morning meeting in a grim London borough last week so travelled the evening before. I had a lovely time. I read a book and listened to music on the flight. I ate dinner in a restaurant near my hotel and had 1 (one) glass of wine. I then headed back and was asleep at 10.30pm. I really needed some time for myself and I felt refreshed and reinvigorated the next morning, until it was time to go to the meeting.

It was great when you could trade them in for Arnotts vouchers, they’re not really worth a fuck otherwise

I’ve heard that Chernobyl is a hard place to access alright. You’ll be stronger for the experience all the same. Stay strong.

One of the greatest things about international business travel overnight stays - the break from daipers, bedtime, somebody pulling your hair to try and reef you out of bed at 6am, cleaning up piss, shit & puke. Just the freedom of it all.

Sounds like you had a nice time

If you have to travel then a flight mid afternoon a day early, read, some wine, some tfk, a movie and a leisurely dinner is a nice way to spend time

Some lads need a bit of coke to keep them going
