Absolutely Bandage, itā€™s all about relationships and network. But we Chartered Accountants know that:)

How can you have a facility start up or system go live via teleconferencing you dope.

Or fix a printer

I have to tip my cap at Fagan here. I was forced to overnight in London last night due to Aer Lingus cancelling flights. Iā€™d flown out Ryanair in the morning. Not a single Ryanair flight was grounded while the other shower caused chaos.

They very helpfully sent me an SMS at 4am this morning telling me that my 7pm flight yesterday evening had been cancelled

Always wanted to go to Brussels. I can now confirm itā€™s a shithole and an expensive one too.

Cheers Mac.

Red eye flight to London in the morning, guys. Iā€™ve to visit a potential development site in a fairly rough area and Iā€™m scared Iā€™ll get knifed/mugged making my way too/from there. Will sleep in my suit so I donā€™t forget to wear it tomorrow.

Could the posters who said theyā€™d update us on various locations, airlines etc please do so?

Was upgraded to business class on both outward and return flights to Malaga last weekend thanks to gold circle points with Aer Lingus. Another perk of being an international business traveler

The next time youā€™re flying to London, make it your business to fly Aer Lingus to London Southend.
With three return flights daily, in the morning, lunchtime and evening, itā€™s ideal for either a half-day or a full dayā€™s meetings.

Lose the high heels & max factor eyeliner and you should be okay.

I was just so busy recently I forgot to log my recent business trip to New York. I was in town for some facetime with a client. We have just completed a project and as we deal with them remotely we decided it would be nice to go over and have a steak lunch with them. Flew in Friday so Iā€™d have time to adjust and catch up with friends and former colleagues. Flew back on Monday evening after the meeting. Some points to note that may be of interest to other business travelers:

  • Aer Lingus business class continues to lag behind class leaders like Emirates. Donā€™t get me wrong, itā€™s a good service but when youā€™re flying overnight and plan on showering and going straight to the office the seats just arenā€™t comfortable enough to get a decent nightā€™s sleep nor do they offer much privacy.

  • Aer Lingus now fly in and out of Termial 5 at JFK. This must be a recent change as they were still flying in and out of Termial 4 on my previous trip in March. Main thing to note is that the Aer Lingus lounge in Terminal 5 is very poor. Iā€™ve been assured this is temporary but itā€™s disappointing nonetheless.

  • Avoid planning trips if you know the President is going to be in the city, especially if your clients or contacts are based in the midtown east business district as this is the area he tends to mess up.

  • And finally - donā€™t forget to take your laptop out and place it on a separate tray. Lol

Thanks for asking, Fagan. I trust itā€™s genuine concern rather than a prelude to ridicule? I was in Plumstead, Thamesmead, Woolwich. Some of the estates are dodgy as fuck; gang culture, stabbings, drugs and all the rest. I completed my business without becoming a victim of crime, thankfully.

City airport would have been very handy for that trip?
