TFK International Business Travel Thread

It was indeed. I was still scared even though the airport was close by.

FAO of International Business Travelers:

Could somebody recommend me a hotel near Paddington Station, London? Mid range rather than top class or a kip, please.

How close to Paddington are you talking about Bandage? I stayed in the Washington Mayfair last month while in London on business. It was a few minutes away in a taxi.

Fucking bastards. Going to have to google this myself now before going to bed because you lazy cunts wouldn’t help.

Harsh. Please refer to my recommendation above!

Thank you, Phil. Please disregard the post made above this one. I want to get that Heathrow Express train from Paddington at 5.25am later this week due to having an early flight back to Dublin. Ideally I want to wake up at 4.55am, take a piss, brush my teeth, shower, get dressed and walk no further than 500 yards to the station so taxi wouldn’t be my preference. Was that place okay though?

Sorry Bando. I’m on the case now. I’ll have you sorted in 5 minutes. Sorry I was pissing around on Smashing Tunes.

It would be one of the lesser exclusive hotels in Mayfair but was perfectly fine for my needs. Some very nice cafes, bars and restaurants in the surrounding streets. Given your travel plans then maybe the Hilton near the station would be a better option.

Thistle Marble Arch is a nice refurbished hotel a two minute taxi ride from Paddington

Also…why the fuck are you flying out of Heathrow and not the city airport? Disappointing out of you Bandage.

I know someone who stayed there and reported blood on the sheets*.

  • not their own, nor that of anyone they brought back to the hotel.

There’s a Hilton right at Paddington Station. That’s probably outta your league though.

Women will have their periods Bandage.

Why can’t you get your PA to sort the hotel out for you Bando? Think there is a Radisson on Cromwell road, in the general vicinity.

The Cumberland is ok too, but I am not sure of their policies on menstruating women.

What do they sound like fagan?

Generally - the sound of silence.

I’m going to the game in Wembley but I need to be back in Dublin first thing on Thursday morning. So I have to balance up Wembley being a nightmare to get out of at the best of times to staying somewhere handy for one of the airports the next morning. Wembley Central to Paddington is fairly straightforward so I figured I’d do that and then get the Express the next morning. Not sure about getting from Wembley to a City Airport convenient hotel but Paddington should be handy as far as Wembley goes.

The Runt - The Hilton would be deemed too expensive and it has no availability.

balbec - my PA is on annual leave and I have the use of somebody else’s but would rather take on this task myself.

Somebody make the definitive call here, please.
