She’s introduced a rake of reforms in a short space of time. She’s been extremely active and excellent. I probably dislike FG above all parties but we’d be doing well if we had a few more ministers like her. Of course you won’t recognise that because she is a woman and you get than you.

Largest ever budget for her department including for massive investment in AGS, reform of licensing laws (ignored for decades), immigration amnesty (similar), initiatives on expunging historical criminal records, establishing a gambling regulator, proposed reforms to sentencing and to family courts.
Compare that to anything any other justice minister achieved. I think its an excellent record and it should be acknowledged.

Which ones? There’s a number of them that could have been done at any time that were ignored, that’s the part that impresses me. This is from a first time minister in the space of two years and she’s been on maternity leave. By any measure her record as a senior minister is excellent. And I’d be the first to lambast any FG minister.
the family law reform was well signposted as was the gambling regulator. the gardai investment was on the back of record exchequer returns and the policing needed for covid. you could say she has done well but the proof in the pudding will be in the more contentious areas

What day is the direct flight from Algeria to Dublin pal? That’d be a grand weekend getaway. I’ll probably need to use a passport but so be it.
Check was at door of aircraft when i came in from Turkey a couple of weeks ago. They’d a few pulled off to side. Not sure what would have happened to them. Presumably it’s so they can be put straight back on the plane but I’d wonder if it actually happens. Will check next time i see the garda that was doing it.
