He might be right or The Banty Empire could have an interest in a direct provision centre somewhere else in the area. I know they bought Hotel Rosslare looking down onto the harbour a while back and locals were excited the iconic (to them) venue would be reopened after being idle/empty for years, but afaik they’re doing direct provision there. I think that site just outside CMX is the Treacy’s Hotel one though.

So Banty doesn’t own the hotel on the old Oasis Niteclub site, it’s a Treacy’s Hotel and part of Treacy’s Group.
But Banty owns a company which acquires rooms for people in direct provision and he has a contract with Treacy’s for an ongoing supply of rooms in the hotel.
Asylum seekers being moved from Treacy’s (when they’ve wedding bookings) to instead stay in Rosslare is covered in the article too. I mentioned how the Banty Empire acquired the vacant Hotel Rosslare but have been using it as a direct provision centre.

Banty is getting it in the neck in circumstances that I think are ridiculous for his involvement in the direct provision industry. It’s all his fault that poor lass was raped and him still walking around Carrick like he’s god’s gift and him still county manager and him shite. I was told by my mother that his involvement had to do with the old Oasis but I now know that my mother is an idiot who loves Rory Best, despite her 140+ IQ.

I trust you implicitly and don’t doubt your bona fides. I was just wary of racist mobs with pitchforks potentially seeing an opportunity to cast aspersions on direct provision. But I recall seeing reports of an arrest back in August or September for an attack in Castleblayney though so that was probably it?
I know pal but you have to be careful because it’s an incredibly serious thing to question a woman’s story on TFK. If anyone calls you a rape apologist the stigma will never leave you and it will be brought up at all sorts of strange situations - when you’re slagging off rugby, when you’re flying business class, when you get a haircut, etc. Fortunately you’re a moderator so you can just ban all those cunts.

She drags the hole out of it alright & it would be easier for you to read it than me make up bullet points.
One precise point she makes is that we as a nation which emigrated in vast numbers have some cheek to take this stance on taking in people in need.
The countries we went to all needed labour I suppose and we’ve paid these places back 1000 times over.
