I’m a slave to the man.
I was on a day off yesterday and spent 2.5 hours dealing with work shit
eek
I did that for a few years, you’ll burn out eventually.
What would happen if you didn’t do it?
He could stop being a cunt for a start. Most people leave jobs because of their boss.
I get 26 days here plus two sick days “on request” and two days for childcare. (To be shared between both parents). Plus eleven bank holidays. Never needed to take the sickies thank God. University graduates are granted four extra days statutorialy. Think the legal minimum is 18-20 otherwise.
You mug.
This isn’t some sort of fantasy novel like the public sector. Runt is an important cog in the wheel of a fast moving industry, the man says jump and Runt says how high. There is no let up, the treadmill keeps spinning. It takes savage intensity to stay at the wheel and it’s a huge compliment to the man that he manages to be a top father and an elite athlete in parallel with this. However it has a natural life span and things will change.
He’d feel more guilty about arseing around on the internet all day.
In the first instance people wouldn’t have been paid for Christmas.
In the second an office was without any internet / phone connectivity. I was potentially going to have to go to Dublin today to resolve it if I didn’t take a bit of time to troubleshoot it remotely yesterday.
You’re trying to explain color to a blind person mate.
badly run if they are relying on 1 person only for this
Such is the way of the world. I’m decently rewarded for it and it generally doesn’t bother me.
these public sector leeches have no concept of an honest days work, its fascinating to watch this mindset in action
They’d be up in arms if there was any risk that they would be paid late though. They think it happens by magic.
All the computers in Dublin would grind to a halt and no one would get paid if you don’t log in from home and press a few magic buttons on your day off?
Pull the other one.
He sets up the system to fall apart in his absence so they think he’s a great man.
I unfortunately had to use 3 days compassionate leave the week before last. Took a sick day on the Friday and my phone started to ring at 9:10am on the Friday. Went into work an hour early the following Monday for a meeting which I had to postpone. No fucking let up.
I’m awaiting a call before COB today to find out if I’ll have to cancel my winter holidays because of a thing that hasn’t been resolved, I’ve spent the week working night and day to try and get it sorted but no give on either side.
Yeah the public sector lads have it easy alright.
You need to talk to your union rep
