None as lucrative I’d say. Much like a lot of the Irish public sector they are an irritating leech on the tax payer. Imagine them only introducing pay freezes now. Jesus wept.

I’ve been in and around those studios a number of times. They’re not particularly big. The RTÉ regional studio is beside it, and is one large radio studio, a small green-screen studio for TV and radio link ups to Dublin and a small edit facility. I don’t see it saving them a huge amount of dough, but I suppose every little counts.
Huge blow for Limerick and it’s sense of importance as an Irish City. Huge.
It’s probably cost Limerick a shot at being European Capital of Culture
