RTÉ 2 have a show on now eulogising Blarney Castle Estate. Blarney Castle Estate is the seat of the Colthurst family. Their forebear Charles Bowen Colthurst committed the cold blooded murder of the pacifist Frances Sheehy Skeffington in the aftermath of the 1916 Rising, a crime for which he suffered no punishment.
More recently the current baronet Sir Charles Colthurst successfully evicted an elderly labourer who had resided in an estate cottage for 44 years, a cottage his family had occupied for 3 generations
