That's it ! everybody in RTE should be executed forthwith

If Mehole doesn’t go to Washington it will be nearly as big a blow to Ireland as Big Phil being forced to resign as EU Commisioner. As a nation we are still reeling from that fiasco.

He should not but he is a self-serving utter cunt of a man and he will.

He is leader of the country, he undermines any government message to protect people and save lives by going over but he doesn’t give a fuck so he will. What cannot be done over a zoom or phonecall with Biden that can be done by going over there?

Nothing, it’s a junket and there is space in Martin’s living room for a big framed photo of him in The White House with the US president.

Exactly. He should be run out of office if he doesn’t go.

There was a few fellas on here who thought as much, but it does seem as if life and business between ourselves and the EU has gone on as normal before. The wheel keeps turning.

As Bud White would say, if I take you out, there’ll be ten more to take your place tomorrow. They just won’t come on the bus, that’s all.

Why have they sent prime time up there to film people then? Only to shame them.

you’ve decided it’s shameful - do you allow RTE dictate your thinking on everything?

Foreign travel is a hot topic. People travelling is a news story. Prime time is a current affairs show.
People will need to give consent to be put on the telly.

Grow up

Think if it’s in public, you’re allowed to film without consent

Rte have decided it’s a shameful act. They are sending the prime time crew up there to try and humiliate the people.

I’ve no issue if people want to go.

Maybe they would agree to that and maybe not. But it sets a precedent that either side can defer Patrick’s Day if they want. Miss it once and it may well be gone and you may never get it back.

Cutting your nose off to satisfy the likes of Fulvio. It would be a stupid decision. The way things are going I wouldn’t be overly surprised if Martin did decide to pull it, his judgement is awful.

I can’t actually believe what I’m reading here… RTE sent cameras up to the airport to shame people? What the actual fuck? Whatever about your argument about the rights and wrongs of holidaying at the minute, trying to put people on camera for neighbours and employers to turn on is scandalous.

How many people did they interview who were reasonable and were going for essential travel, where you’d go, jaysus, that’s necessary.

Not like you to fall for the tabloid mindset.

Any shame here is implied and it’s very interesting to see who is implying it

Sorry mate that’s just not right. Rte have done this because they think it will capture attention. They have a very clear motive here.

@EstebanSexface is going to strangle himself again trying to defend rte here. They are deliberately trying to shame people.

Just like when they were going to broadcast from inside the matter and they got a load of abuse over it.

should they not film people coming home for christmas ever again?

Its sad that people think its ok to go on holidays in the middle of all of this. We’re nearly there. We need to pull together to get this over the line.

Going on holidays isn’t great optics but it doesn’t actually matter in the slightest does it? If we were going for Zero Covid and down to 1 or 2 cases a day maybe but at a few thousand cases it doesn’t make any difference

You are safer in Lanzarote.

You don’t see a difference in their intention in those two things? If not we’ll discuss no further.

I haven’t seen it, just reading here… My problem is that in the current atmosphere those people could find themselves turned on by community or workplace…

It’s gutter journalism anyway… Brainstorming in the office and that’s what they come up with? Travel has accorded for very little transmission. It’s staple divide and conquer if you ask me… the real problems of transmissions are in hospitals and nursing homes but RTE are blaming Joe public, dividing society and scaremongering.
