The 2010 Ryder Cup

isn’t one of them already in and monty was thinking of adding the other and partnering them?

Could be now FoF, haven’t been keeping up with it as much as I should. One of them has been flying this year. A quick google search would give me the answers but too busy/lazy to do so.

Shocking attitude.

Locke in “I hate Europe” slur.

yya just checked, francesco is in alright, eduardo is a bit outside.

Let’s not forget, FoF, (as true golf fans will know) that the brothers won the World Cup for Italy last year and have played exceedingly well together in both fourballs and foursomes.

ah yes you’ve jogged my memory there, weren’t rory and g-mac in the running for ireland ?

Indeed. It was just before the fuzzy haired cunt from Down decided that he would earn more from sponsorship and endorsements if he publicly declared his allegiance to the United Kingdom.

I thought joining up with the brits for anything was frowned upon in these parts.

Especially a posh hobby like golf.

bando, is this suggesting he won’t represent ireland at the next world cup?

No, he’ll still play under the auspices of the GUI for events like the World Cup but he wants to coin it in for the 2012 London Olympics by representing the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

ah yes i may have heard this, is it because he is guaranteed an olympics chance with great britain?

FFS

Playing golf with something as dear as one’s continent supercedes any petty national rivalries within said continent.

Don’t forget either - the Ryder Cup brought in billions to the Irish economy in 2006. Imagine what state the public finances would be in now but for it gracing our green isle with its presence.

Billions? As in more than 1 billion? i find that hard to believe.

Anyway, just another fine example of the hypocrisy of some.

Seriously. FFS.

So you’re not getting behind Europe despite everything the EU has given us?

You’re some bluffer.

What? Did i say anything about not getting behind them? No i didn’t, i was questioning why certain posters who seem to be anti, lets say the B&I Lions now think this team is perfectly ok.

Personally i have no bother with either.

Mind you, i think the money the EU poured into us has made us a shower of ignorant, self obsessed cunts.

Glad that you clarified matters, Kevin. I’m just picturing the celebrations in my apartment if, for example, Miguel Angel Jimenez drained a 25-foot putt on the 18th so that himself and Lee Westwood defeated Bubba Watson and Hunter Mahan 1 up in the opening day’s foursomes. You can’t beat it. You just can’t beat it.

Kev, the 2006 Ryder Cup had a global audience of 500 million people. It’s the world’s third largest sporting event. A 1 billion euro injection into the local economy is therefore a conservative estimate. The country has never and will never see anything like it again. Seeing Ian Woosnam down that pint on the balcony of the K Club was utterly spine tingling stuff. There’s always been friendly rivalry between different countries historically but I think the Ryder Cup makes us all realise what it means to be, above all else, European. It’s part what we are.

I never warmed to this whole Team Europe lark to be honest.

I will be supporting whatever players / team I have backed that day
