Time will tell
I’ve read this three times now and I still don’t think you have any idea what you’re trying to say.
I know this pain
Why do lock yourself up in these chains?
No one can change your life except for you
Don’t ever let anyone step all over you
Just open your heart and your mind
Is it really fair to feel this way inside?
[Chorus:]
Some day somebody’s gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don’t you know?
Don’t you know things can change
Things’ll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can you hold on for one more day
Things’ll go your way
Hold on for one more day
You could sustain
Or are you comfortable with the pain?
You’ve got no one to blame for your unhappiness
You got yourself into your own mess
Lettin’ your worries pass you by
Don’t you think it’s worth your time
To change your mind?
[Chorus]
I know that there is pain
But you hold on for one more day and
Break free the chains
Yeah I know that there is pain
But you hold on for one more day and you
Break free, break from the chains
Some day somebody’s gonna make you want to
Turn around and say goodbye
Until then baby are you going to let them
Hold you down and make you cry
Don’t you know?
Don’t you know things can change
Things’ll go your way
If you hold on for one more day yeah
If you hold on
Don’t you know things can change
Things’ll go your way
If you hold on for one more day,
If you hold on
Can you hold on
Hold on baby
Won’t you tell me now
Hold on for one more day 'Cause
It’s gonna go your way
Don’t you know things can change
Things’ll go your way
If you hold on for one more day
Can’t you change it this time
Make up your mind
Hold on
Hold on
Baby hold on
The clear hurt running through @Gman’s words that people might critically evaluate the merits of United Statesian football is reminiscent of the hurt felt by a man who has just overheard work colleagues talking about his wife being overweight.
He’s not taking it very well.
Ah that’s a bit unfair he’s not gonna get bogged down in it
Same with the MLS and A League imo.
Cringey seeing some Americans trying to ape English association football culture in Seattle or whatever.
Association football absolutely trounces United Statesian football as a participatory sport in the US, mate, and continues to grow strongly as a spectator sport.
If you think it’s cringey seeing United Statesians supporting association football, one can only guess at what level of cringe is induced in you by nice, middle class boys from leafy South Dublin pretending they’re United Statesian.
Which is fine, American Football participation and attendances continue to grow in the UK but is neither here or there. It’s the same thing in aping British culture, complete with A League fans fighting one another over pride in clubs invented 5 years ago.
I really don’t know what point you’re trying to make bar reaffirming that you don’t like association football, and I don’t think you know either, mate.
Hmm? I don’t dislike association football at all mate. My point was I find Brits and Irish trying to ape NFL culture as cringed as Aussies and American soccer fans doing the same with British soccer fan culture.
Have you been to many a league games?
Two.
I’ve never seen any tailgating in Ireland, mate?
That’s more of a college thing, there is generally a poor atmosphere at NFL games. Rich white people sitting there mostly in silence, much like the Oirish NFL fan sitting in silence in the spare room away from the white with their laptop on their fantasy league and Sky Sports on.
That’s the dream right there… a spare room, with skysports …
What about O’Irish rugby fans mimicking EPL fans, how does that sit with you?
You’ve obviously never been to a Raiders home game. Atmosphere like any sport depends mostly on how the team is playing, Raiders home games have been electric this past season, Niners like a morgue.
Agree college by and large is far better atmosphere live than NFL, especially historical rivalries.
As I said, by and large.
NFL games generally have zero atmosphere, with some notable exceptions.
What about munster fans mimicking albion rovers fans?
Or Leinsters fans singing the Toure brother’s song
