In a match where there is a point in it at half time you have to look at the spread of Dublin’s scores. 1-3 in the first five minutes. 1-2 in a half an hour. 7 scores in total. Kildare with 12 scores. Both have a few bad wides.
Dublin with a man down are in serious trouble here.
I know I keep saying this but handpassing of points drives me bonkers.
Kildare could have worked at least 4 goalscoring opportunities in the first half but 2 or three times they handpass the ball over the bar. On another occasion they had men over, could have worked a goal chance but took a point instead.
If I was managing a Gaelic Football team I’d have it well known that if there is a chance to work a goal then you go for it, with no recriminations later for not taking the point. I’d rather finish with a total of 0-6 after trying to take my goal chances than finish with 0-10 and wussing out. I’d say you could finish with strange scoring totals as a result, but fuck it, so be it.
Give me a draw here please. I’ve this match to draw in singles, doubles and trebles with the Wexford v Roscommon and Tipp v Sligo matches from yesterday.
