Frustrated with John. Frustrated with everything. An asrehole to George.
But outside of that he is the one driving it at least.
Itās a great watch
Ringo adores and worships Paul but also seems to be lovely with George. Heās along for the ride and doesnāt take himself seriously which isnāt a bad thing given all heās seen at this stage.
Paul is showing signs of realising heās at nothing and perhaps figures this might be all too much hassle to keep going. He seems quite decent tbf.
Ringo would only ate baked beans when the boys were over in India for a few months. Had to get them flown over.
He was right too!
Ringo was and is sound.
His comment at the end is class.
I was going to bring it up, very little swearing in the documentary. Did people swear less back then?
Finally getting around to this, just finished the first one.
Was never a massive Beatles fan going in so didnāt know what to expect.
Itās mind blowing how they wrote songs, just jamming away and next thing thereās a song.
Whatās amazing to me is how little thought they put into the lyrics, any auld shite to fit the basic tune/hook and then people thinking they were lyrical geniuses. But the genius in putting together the music was undeniable. McCartney hearing the drums in his head basically. All of them able to play multiple instruments, even Ringo could play the piano. Just picking up songs by listening to the other play them, adding something to them each time.
Only for McCartney thereād have been no album done at that stage. But he was a cunt to George. Lennon was checked out at that stage. It would seem McCartney was being very generous in giving him writing credits by then
Yoko was some pest. Just sitting there in the way constantly
Just watching the first episode here. They looked all out of ideas. Yoko was some dose. Like a wan youād see at a match with a book.
True of most great songs ?
Itās 90 per cent the melody. People add the meaning to the lyrics themselves
The Get Back piece is really like watching a master paint. Itās mesmerising.
I donāt think the Beatles would generally have been considered lyrical geniuses; what they were very good at was clever wordplay within the melodies/rhythm though.
That was probably the highlight but the rest was tough going. At least until I fell asleep.
The last episode was very good. The multi camera coverage of the rooftop gig leading to the completion of what would become Let It Be.
I enjoyed it all, it was a fascinating insight into the mundanity of genius, and how in the end it all comes down to hsrd work and repetition
Ringo comes out of it very well
Was just about to post that. Ringo is/ was a lovely fella.
He was the glue youād feel, he utterly loved Paul
Ringo seemed to be the only one left with no ego
Ringo was the best of the Beatles.
At what?
Saying the words Fat Controller
