The Celtic Phoenix - A thread to list the economic miracles of Michael Noonan & Fine Gael

People make panels for promotion and can then be drawn off them to different places. It can not make sense in one way but where specialist skills or experience are needed they generally select a person from the panel with necessary experience. The system eliminates nepotism and it also helps for people to move departments which should mitigate against inertia.

She admitted herself when she was told she was going to IT that she hadn’t a breeze. I’m sure there were many like her but where’s the value in promoting and paying someone that doesn’t even have a basic grasp of what they’re supposed to be doing. How do staff below her in that dept feel when they see their new boss coming in and struggling with lressing ctrl alt del at the same time. All very bizarre but more importantly a wadte of resources.

Agreed, I know of someone who after 25 years working in the County Library recently moved to the Planning department, simply would not happen in the private sector.

But I could show them how to post gifs. Surely thats worth 100k a year plus 15 sick days and a 22 hour week all funded by the private sector

That sounds senseless, I completely agree.

I imagine if you’d done 25 years in the county library you would t be fit for any kind of work.

Thats an easy one shur. Chief bookeeper in the department of finance.

Ffs! What value could you add barring administration skills

Thats very unfair. The person might well have read a book by Dermot Bannon or Duncan Stewart

Unreal

Domestic GDP is in the bin. It’s just multi nationals running profits through Ireland that’s keeping us afloat…

On the 78k I mentioned that have rang SvP for help so far this year. Interesting bit on the radio yesterday saying how the pandemic payment stemmed many from the poverty line in 2020/21 but the reality of it is setting in now. And that was before hyper inflation.

It is absolutely mental that the educated young may emigrate not because they don’t have well paid employment, but because despite that, they struggle to find a reasonable place to live.

We can’t build more because Europe won’t let us :grinning:

We should leave the EU, we’d be much better off.

That’s the line the government are currently spinning.
