The Celtic Phoenix - A thread to list the economic miracles of Michael Noonan & Fine Gael

He is an absolute hypocrite in fairness.

The establishment stooges falling in behind Michael D Higgins. They probably have a tea cosy of the cunt.

I’d say he can barely walk with the gut on him. A nasty piece of work.

When he looks back on his political life, what has he actually achieved for the less fortunate that he is supposed to champion.

I saw that. A wonderful stat… Spain needs more fast food take aways for youth employment

The best educated kids in Europe have access to some of the best jobs on the continent. It’s why so many of the youth from the continent come to Ireland driving up rents. We’re almost too successful.

That’s all jobsbridge and emigration

There’s an angry lad in the comments there who asked about inflation, when it was it given it him showing Ireland is much of a muchness in Europe he goes off and rages about something else.

According to his bio he is a software developer in Cork, a place that is basically a large town by European standards. Some lads don’t know how lucky they have it.

You do realise that’s Spain’s stats are more to do with their shitty laws and types of contracts they dish out rather than a shortage of jobs?

And yet.

Labour and Social Economy Minister Yolanda Díaz of the left-wing United We Can party (Unidas Podemos), has defined the labour situation of the youth as “a pending issue” that must be addressed with urgency.

“The main problem that Spain has is unemployment […] but particularly that of young people,” she said on Tuesday (8 June).

To correct this imbalance, the Spanish government has drafted a plan, Youth Guarantee Plan Plus 2021-2027.

You’d rarely hear of Irish young lads going off to Spain for a genuine economic activity. Teaching is basically it, outside of that the drug dealers were the most successful migrants. You have the older generation who are already made head over to “get a bit of sun” as well. That’s the height of it.

We were all very lucky to be born in such a great country

It’s totally irrelevant to my situation regardless… How many of the Irish in employment will be able to afford a house in their own country? Stats are great but what’s the point of employment if you can afford to live ? A couple on combined 100k can’t get a house in a decent neighbourhood in any of our cities… But youth employment, lovely.

I don’t know, but the youth in Spain live at home until they’re 30.

That’s despite property being significantly cheaper due to the worse economy.

Any parent emigrating there with their kid is basically paying roulette with their future. Great for the mums and dads to get their sun loungers out but a 1 in 4 chance of their kids being unemployed and also most likely still living at home until they’re 30.

There’s loads of work in Spain. For all ages.

The stats don’t bear that out the Spanish government have launched an emergency plan to tackle it.

Your personal circumstances might mean moving there for a particular job makes sense, however your thread on the matter put it down to generalities.

“I don’t like what the country has become”- moves to a place doing worse.

And lads on here want to send us back to the 1970s

There’s a housing crisis in the main Spanish cities too. Evictions like this are commonplace.

But it’s sunny.

It’s gotten rightly under your skin

You’re both right pal … Tim is right that a large amount of educated Spanish under 30s are here ,uk and Australia … civil service jobs are like gold dust over there … you are right in that your money goes a lot further there and you don’t need as much as you’re not getting ripped off everywhere you turn … there’s also awful messing regards the dole figures as lads would be working construction or the land and claiming the dole too so some of the stats would be way off…
