The Daddy Thread

lads
not a WUM now
but am i mad thinking of taking the kids down to see granny and granda paddys day?
all parties would love it and the parents feel a bit put out at the moment that a 40 year old gay man has basically told them they cant go to mass after bringing in abortion and now they cant see the grandkids.
its interesting to see this from an old persons perspective - they must see the government as an agist nazi organisation talking down to them and basically locking them away

anyway - that aside - would driving to cork for the day be frowned upon?>

Keep them away from them

They have to make the call on receiving you.

Video calls until this blows over.

Keep away I’d say. . The incubation period is 7 to 14 days which is way longer than anything else I think. It means you feel safe and bored etc. But if you kids have been anywhere near a creche or activities with other kids in the last 10 days then they are possible. My little fella started coughing and sneezing last night. Seems grand today but Mrs J has hit defcon 1

Keep away Mickey, would love to go up and see the auld boy but can’t. Wait till it all blows over

Bring them but keep them in the garden a good 10 feet away

Keep kids away from grandparents seems to be the advice from the experts. My mother was to be up minding the little lad while Mrs Hunt has our second but she’ll see none of us for the foreseeable. Told her not to go into work either until this blows over.

Could they go for walks outside with grandparents if they don’t have physical contact?

It’s impossible to ask young children to not hug or physically touch their grandparents

Yeah fair point

Agreed

thanks lads - decison made

What’s the latest on your crèches, guys?

Not a dickiebird from ours. Been too busy to get around to following up but will do so tomorrow. Don’t mind continuing to pay if they are going to pay their staff and ensure they are there when normal life resumes in 2021.

Heard from a work colleague that their crèche in Fingal is continuing to charge but staff have been laid off.

Contacted A Fellow parent and a Creche worker yesterday. Will decide what to do based on their responses.

I’m not paying if that bitch isn’t paying the staff

We contacted ours but no reply yet. Mrs Mac met one of the staff who told her she thought they were going to be paid as normal so we don’t mind as much. Cutting 10% off the top to cover things like food and other things would be a nice gesture but not something I’d fight with them over.

The peace of mind of knowing that they’ll be able to reopen after all of this is worth more than anything.

That’s shocking if true.

Glad I don’t have to deal with creches or the headache of whether they’ll be open come a few months time

Not surprising though. In these times you’ll always get cunts looking to take advantage. I guarantee you there’s pubs out there still having lock ins.

We’ve paid to the end of the month and we are happy that all are paid until then. We as a couple are still getting full pay so don’t see why they shouldn’t.
The crèche will contact us when they know more about government rebates.
