The Daddy Thread

Some of the activities also book out too. You get notified by email when activities for your stay are open to book. It could be 1 or maybe 2 months in advance (can’t recall). Again, you mightn’t be in the headspace to get in holiday mode, but delegate it to your life partner on that day just to book a couple of things to have one or two bits confirmed. You can book activities online then any time before or during your stay. There’s also a desk in the sports plaza then where you can chat to staff about what else is on and get their advice on what might suit your kids based on age etc. But between swimming, the couple of playgrounds that are there and general being out and about, they’ll be tired so you won’t need to bolt on too many activities.

It definitely wouldn’t!

That’s lovely to read. Fair play to him, great to hear a young man going the right direction

While the iron is hot it might be no harm to get him into a few weightlifting or powerlifting classes to learn how to do the lifts properly

Yeah we were going to get him some personal training sessions to teach him but he said he wants to just go with the pals for now. So I won’t rock the boat !

That’s terrific news. It opens up new avenues for him (and possibly yourself). :+1:

The 6 year old has an irish dancing feis this morning and mrs barnes is away for the weekend. Safety pinning dresses, trying to tie up hair, entry forms etc. More a case of I don’t know how to do it! Well outside my comfort zone here.

Slip a crisp 50 euro note to the judge and you’ll have the mantlepiece filled with trophies by tea time pal.

That seems to be how it works alright! It might encourage my one to continue with this shit though.

I remember going along to a Feis when the younger 2 were at this phase. Our daughter was into it and pretty competitive with her clique of friends. It was an achievement for the lad himself to get on stage and do his 1, 2, 3., 2, 2, 3. Precious camcorder footage for the 21st :grinning:
Anyways, funny experience, I had grown a beard at the time for a part I had in a play. None of the mammies recognised me and were pretty standoffish with Mrs. B . The one and only time I was someone’s fancy man :slightly_smiling_face:
