You are not 14.

Go for a couple of drinks in a nice bar. have a drink to settle nerves beforehand and then don’t get drunk

You will know within 10 minutes if you like her and within 30 minutes if she likes you

Sage advice. The drink thing seems the way to go.

I can reveal to the forum that I am going on a first date tonight. For various schedule issues Sun night worked out as the best time. It’ll be a couple of drinks and chat - as @TheUlteriorMotive says you’ll know fairly quickly if there’s mutual interest.

Is it with @glasagusban after you matched on Tinder, pal?

Best of luck kid.
The standard for this type of thing was set by Thrawneen who arranged to meet a bird in Kilcoole one evening and she picked him up along the road and drove him to Greystones pier, sucked him off and drove him back and he was back posting within the hour.

I’m presuming not because I’ve been under the assumption all along that @glasagusban was a boy from Limerick rather than a whining girl … Wait a minute, you might be onto something

@Smark

Go for a few drinks. You can always get locked if things aren’t going well.

Regarding the drink thing we’ll both be driving to the venue, so if we are to abide by the rules of the road will be one drink each or max two (i drink two pints as my minimum driving allowance). Also i will be pushing for a midweek thing when there are less cunts around. Might be no harm anyway, could surely stretch 45mins to an hour out of it and that’ll do to gauge things first time up. Likely a meal the week after then it that went to plan.

Looking forward to hearing how things go for @tallback and if he has any tips afterwards. Will you be wearing a shirt pal? I never wear shirts but maybe a shirt under the jumper is what’s called for here? @TheUlteriorMotive

I’ll be wearing a shirt and jumper. You don’t want to dress up like a complete prick but you also want to show some level of effort.

The way I look at it is you’re hoping for a bit of craic over a couple of drinks. You’re hoping she looks as good as her photos and if she does and you can have a good chat with her it’s a great start.

Anyway - walking out the door now - I’ll let you all know!

A nice navy v neck over a white t shirt and navy slim fit jeans would be a super first date outfit. Wear it with nice trainers or nice pair of boots and you are laughing. It is casual but smart enough too. All navy is flattering.

Jumper and jeans like these - look good and great quality and not expensive
