Did you just prescribe a wank?

I don’t think you should assume you will come out of it. Go to your gp and tell the truth. There is no down side to sharing the problem with the right people. Most people go through this stuff at some stage. Best of luck with it.

This is @farmerinthecity we’re dealing with and you’re suggesting he does a few stretches……
He’s bordering on 7 foot and you suggest he stretch further.:scream::flushed:

St.Caillins defeated SoH comprehensively in the county league will sharpen his focus - there…

Best of luck @farmerinthecity

As per others, take the medical advice is all l can suggest. Mrs Cauli suffers with it mildly enough but takes a little tablet every day and it keeps things smooth enough. Her father suffers with it massively and won’t talk to a doctor about it.

To echo everyone else, talk to a professional @farmerinthecity

One things that for all the faults americans have what they do way better than us is go to psychologists way quicker than we do here. Its something we are slow to adopt from the US and its one of the better things they do there.

Best of luck mate

Its easy enough to be streotypical and say that irish men prefer to bury their feelings but there is definitely some truth in it and your father in law is probably an example of that

Im begining to believe that even is your mental health is good the benefits of having psychology or something similar are huge

I don’t know mate.

The key is to get a therapist who you can connect with. A bad one can do all sorts of problems.

I agree though. I know of older men who go through horrible times yet won’t speak a word. I don’t know how they function.

You talk for forever too… it’s a fine line. It’s really about recognising patterns and having the tools to manage whatever it is that’s affecting you. It’s grand uncovering sides of yourself and delving into past hurt but how do you move forward if you don’t know how?

People have to find some sort of meaning in their life as a starting point.

People have ro live and the emphasis placed there.

Not talking, living.

I think many people are looking for life to have meaning and it doesn’t. Youre here, you live and you die… that’s it. Meaning is something you find yourself in the living part. The purpose of life is existence.

A bad therapist becomes a pure chore

I don’t know,

I think as human beings we are built to have meaning.

Anyway - there is no point getting in that deep.

It’s Father’s Day with my little boy.

The GAA is on today so all in for that.

Yeah that’s kinda what I’m saying… we’re built to have meaning , it’s where the concept of god comes from since we were in caves… but that meaning has to come from you really as on the grander scale of existence there is no meaning… i thinkna lot of depression is driven by this dissonance.

Anyway. Happy father’s day
