Brady was one of the greatest players in a generation of great players, him having to go there and deal with fucking idiots like that must have been very testing

Scored the winning penalty to win the league too one year.
He’s before my time but anytime I ever hear someone mention Brady in a podcast or a fan cam it’s always the same. I’d say he was a proper great player.

Reading Paddy Kenny’s book at the moment. Great read. Passage on Staunton slating Kenny for the Cyprus defeat. Kenny held his hands up for one of the goals but had a go back at Staunton for been afraid to take on the big names in the squad, Duff, Dunne, O’Shea etc, no wonder Stan didnt make it in management.

Yeah, they told him and Juve were worried he’d miss the spotter on purpose. He wasnt supposed to take it but Trap had taken off the fella due to take penalties, according to Brady.

Brady was a class act and loved wherever he played. Look at his last professional game for West Ham in 1990. Scored the fourth in a 4-0 of Steve Bull’s Wolves

Yep got a four game ban reduced to two on appeal. Might still have featured in Euro 88 but then did his ACL. Wasn’t officially retired for Italia 90 but Jack had moved on at that stage.

Are West Ham in the 2nd tier in that video? Presume they are because Steve Bull is famous for never having played top tier football but being capped for England. Did they win promotion that season? West Ham never tend to spend long down in the 2nd tier when they get relegated. Back up within 2 years of 2003 relegation and promoted straight after the 2011 demotion.
Yeah they got relegated with brady the season before, they went up the following season I think

He was on as an analyst for a Juve game one Sunday on c4 back in the day when Peter Brackley mentioned in commentary how thanks again to Liam Brady for being the reason they ate for free last night in Turin. Always stayed with me. They worshipped John Charles too in Juve

As was said, went down in ‘89 and came back up in the ‘91/92 season with Newcastle. Up for one season when Leeds won the league, down for one season then back up until 2003 when we were relegated with 42 points (you’d get Europa nearly with that amount of points these days). Down for two seasons then up for another while.
That 03 team had some serious operators. No way they should have gone down. Di Canio, Carrick, Defoe, Johnson, James.
I remember an absolute tonking by Man United with Breen having a mare.
