The Electric Vehicle Thread

Thats the plan. The hard bit is when you’re pushing it downhill is to sprint fast enough to get in front of it to stop it.

Over 200km so I should be able to make it to and from work easily enough.

What’s the max speed you get out of them these days?

Supposedly 165kmph. So in reality probably 140kmph. We’re test driving on motorway in an hour or so. So if ye all could clear the m50 that’d be great. Appreciate it.

You’ll get plenty of speed. It drains the battery much quicker when you’re going over 100km/hr though I find. But if you need to drive quickly it’s plenty quick.

Interesting. Get it to the 140km and see if it feels like it’s going to blow up

Are we in the majority yet?

Probably, but who needs a majority when you’re on the correct side of the fence?

Yeah the efficiency sweet spot is somewhere around 80-90kmph apparently.

Fuck sake, if you want efficiency then take a bus

Well you don’t have to stay at that level, same as those primitive petrol cars. They all have a point of optimal efficiency, but it’s ignored. Handy to know what it is no matter what you’re driving if you’re running out of juice.

Would all new cars not give you this detail by prompting you to change gear to most efficient gear for situation?

Welcome aboard chum. Great to have another thought leader on the site.

Change gear - are there cars out there where you still have to do that?

Pal of mine had a friend killed in a tesla crash in US. Fireball. Firemen could not get near it - lithium batteries exploded
