The Galway Criticism Thread

Would you not have asked the person who told you this news, what the story was?

Or did you just say to him “thats interesting, I’m just going to ask a few weirdos on the internet to verify it first, I’ll get back to you later”.

What’s with the weirdo?

Agreed, but to me at least, there is little doubt that rugby is pre eminent at underage in Clifden. The wheel turns though, and lots do both. The training for one would help the other undoubtedly.

I met this relation visiting a very sick dear person in a nursing home. It was a passing chat and was not the place to go into any depth on the subject.

The news that rugby was in the ascendancy in Galway must really have hit this person hard.

:relaxed:No connection.

Just in case, dont tell him about Wexford so.

There is a huge inclination in the media to report on rugby taking over traditional GAA strongholds. If a young lad gets an underage cap all sorts of Armageddon is prophecisd for the GAA.

Huge inclination for GAA diehards to dismiss these reports as scaremongering then on basis of ERSI reports, graphs pulled from Google and claims about floods of mammys not allowing kids to play due to inherent dangers of the game.

Hard to know who to believe. Wouldn’t have had Wexford down as a rugby stronghold mind you

There is also the fact that is the majority of cases it’s one rugby club pulling from 20 or so GAA clubs.
