If club players strike - @TreatyStones would you pull your under age lads or let them step up to senior

It’s provocative. Gets the people going.

Sure beats gimps walking around in a parade with their socks down I guess

They cannot be compared to players from the past that fagan is blowing on about, and they are essentially mercenaries within a club.

In the past whole senior teams were dual
Now clubs like Blackrock, The Barrs, Nemo who were heavily dual have no dual players or maybe 1/2 in unique circumstances (generally a guy ays football down west and hurling with them or visa versa).
Its gone very much the same in Dublin. A few lads coming in or taking it seriously after they get knocked out of their first chouce is not really being s dual player. They might as well be soccer players

I don’t think they train any harder. I do think they train much smarter though.

Any lad worth his salt who doesn’t play competitive sports is doing 3 or 4 s&c sessions a week. Exercising is the new socialising. Semi serious fun runners are running 5kms in 17 or 18 minutes.

Lads playing club football at a reasonable level might be a bit fitter than joe average and games take time out to travel to, play etc but it is essentially a hobby that people choose to do.

How the fuck are they mercenaries?

They’re club members. If they’re in the 15 best footballers and hurlers in their club, and Keaney, Hiney and Durkin clearly were, as they won an All-Ireland, why the fuck shouldn’t they be playing?

Are you suggesting that inter-county players who don’t turn up for club training and don’t play club matches while they’re involved with their county are mercenaries too? That’s most of them.

Take your attitude and county players wouldn’t be playing for clubs at all.

 I do be embarrassed when I hear ejjits at work blathering about “smashing” 22 minutes for a 5k

@caoimhaoin. There are loads of dual players in Dublin. More than there ever has been due to the rise in hurling playing numbers. A lot of them would be playing 40ish matches a year too.
The big clubs like Crokes etc would not have many on their senior teams but loads on their lower grades. Smaller clubs like Ballinteer, Raheny, naomh Barrog etc would be over 50% at all adult levels

Saw the Back Page of The Echo earlier, Kavanagh stating that the take up of CPA members is highest with Cork Weirdo’s. Go figure.

Also, he claims 20,000 have signed up which contradicts the 30,000 number flying around.

Bottom line though, these fairies will flourish with fucking simpletons like @caoimhaoin lapping up their bullshit.

Sure anyone can sign up to that link. I’ve signed up one of the lads, using a burner email address

Lower grade clubs always have it. Same in my club. They have no choice. In alot of cases its why they stay lower grade, serving 2 masters.

Fella the reason i got involved is i publically challenged them on a few issues and tgey responded, called my bluff to do something of value so they impressed me.

They are not perfect, they are only starting. Like anything.

But emotionally intelligent people like me will see if guys have it or they don’t. They do.

Unfortunately you don’t.

So what? Do you really think too many people will be bothered doing that just for the laugh? Won’t last long.

Its all traceable too.

you are too good to be associated with the gaa

It’s close to 30k now

I’m pointing out a serious flaw in their registration system
If they can be lax at this stage, I’m not filled with confidence. It’s a fairly basic thing to be fair. It’s also the first thing they can be torn apart with when they start saying they’ve 30k members. Sure I can buy 30k instragram followers for $20

They need to validate their data or it’s worthless. Numbers mean nothing without verification

So they can trace all they want. If it’s the same fella built their registration system he’ll be a fair fucking while figuring out if there’s really a club player in a Data Centre in North Virginia

They can verify it by getting 100k lads to not turn out on a sunday ffs

The GAA, FAI and everyone else grease the numvers as well all the time sure.

Nothing new there.

Do you understand how they are doing it?
