Fair play to him. Some solicitors are a bunch of ball washing bastards. Earn a living by ripping people off. I had a family member deal with a prominent Galway one a few years back, a very standard bit of work. One civil court appearance. Got a bill for I think 4500. Which I thought was outrageous. Checked with a solicitor friend of mine to confirm, then I wrote back saying I was sending it to the law society to be costed. They replied a few hours later saying they reviewed it and 3200 would do instead.

Business are going to war on the compo culture. The legal and insurance professions had a nice thing going but like all scams they got too greedy. Big changes coming

For sure, but they’ve been greedy for years. In fairness McDowell had them in his sights but got side tracked. A hell of a lobby group. Then you are dealing with people who think only they should be allowed regulate themselves.
