The Let Kev at your Back thread

Cuddys on Bridge Street have been fixing me up for years. Mark is my guy.

Breda on the desk is a lovely lady.

As a follow up pilonidal sinus which is caused by ingrown hairs at base of spine can lead to paralysis

My brother recommended the same chap to me, actually.

Have been going to Frank Cuddy for years. A true gentleman - regularly meet him at games in Croke Park too. Best thing I can say about him as a dentist is that, despite not having lived in Galway for almost 15 years I still go back to him.

Good luck either way pal.

I put down a horrible night last night, drifting in and mostly out of sleep as the abscess (a periodontal one, as I self diagnosed) came ā€œto the boilā€. I was very much reminded of Steven Gerrardā€™s abscess agony before the 2005 Champions League semi-final first leg.

It burst this morning and a massive load of puss drained from it, also draining the pain. The lump Iā€™ve had for the last 18 months is now gone but the abscess still doesnā€™t look to be fully drained. Iā€™ve been to the doctor and have started a week-long course of antibiotics but a visit to the dentist will also be required. However Iā€™m now optimistic that will not involve a re-root canal.

Fucking hell - sounds rough dude.

Nothing like the smell of fresh puss of a Christmas morning.

What seems to be the issue? You called.

@KinvarasPassion left a ā€˜yā€™ out of his post.

Sadly, Iā€™m optimistic it will involve root canal work.

Anyone here have dupuytrenā€™s contractures in their hands?

Lads, after 50+ years of smoking Iā€™m beginning to think that itā€™s not best practise. 40 of those years were spent
quaffing Sweet Aftons (un-filtered) now sadly off the market.
I was forced to attend the vascular clinic in St.Jamesā€™ today (children) as walking more than 400 yds. is causing severe pain in the calf of my left leg. Had the scans and the rest before the consultant meeting.

Same guy who operated on my wifeā€™s carotid aerteries after her strokeā€¦Nice fellow, Iā€™m familiar with him.

Preliminary spoof before the hard factsā€¦aerteries in left leg diseased by circa 30%. Aspirin daily, cholesterol tablet daily and walk vigorously for 30 mins. a day to stabilise the situation. This is to hold the chance of a disaster at bayā€¦FFSā€¦

Stopping smoking will in a few months reverse this damage/danger as it prevents the blood from becoming stickyā€¦

I cancelled my weekly order for a carton from a supplier (ā‚¬35.00) as I have a carton on standby so I feel itā€™s a start.

Tough times ahead but I can hear the alarm bells ringingā€¦

Cunt of a habit alright. Would you smoke many a day?

Iā€™ve started to tire of the habit recently but still go through 15 + a day. As regards giving them up which Iā€™ve done unsuccessfully a few times, I find the craving after a feed a right cunt. Plus any booze up at all & im hoovering through the cunts.

Strange thing though, after smoking a joint I couldnā€™t care less for smoking a cigarette thereafter.

5 or 6 until I get herself to bed and then get on here or elsewhere and guzzle whiskey and ate fagsā€¦FML.
Of course those fucking cartons of B&H for ā‚¬35 trick me into a warped mind-zone.

Bob Dylan was right 50 years agoā€¦The times they are aā€™ changinā€™ā€¦

30% is nothing, you can reverse symptoms even at 70%. Arterial damage is reversible, actually all cellular damage is reversible, if you stop doing what causes the damage, the liver the obvious example.
Give up the fags, cold turkey, thereā€™s no other way that works. Decide whether you want to live another 20 years while still enjoying life, or endure an increasingly poorer quality of life.
Add lots of garlic and turmeric to your diet, add the garlic to every dish in the last minute with liquid to not overcook it, add a tsp turmeric to rice or other grain dishes. Convert to quality grains like brown rice or quinoa. Invest in a decent wok and stir fry lots of fresh vegetables, especially greens.
No more animal fats (as in zero).
Lots of walking.

Is that not heresy for a chef? Or am I misunderstanding??
