The Mac and Treatystones Beer Thread

I’ll be finding out when I get home…

We are mere peasants in comparison, Fagan. I was supping away today and munching on an apple strudel and I looked around and there were young an old sipping on all sorts, from tankards to tulip glasses. There was 15 taps and about 40 different bottled beers to choose from. Not a Heineken or Budweiser in sight…

I feel like taking tomorrow off, driving over to Belgium and stocking up.

Inspiring posting from you CM. Will be going to the local off-license this week in search of some of those beers, more in hope than expectation though.
Just logging one more, and I highly recommend it if you ever come across it… Brugse Zot Dubble.

It’s a dark beer, a lovely ruby colour, 7.5%, but a lovely sweet taste off it with no real after taste that you’d expect with a dark beer. Delicious stuff.

I’m not looking forward to my shite tomorrow…

Proper beer.

A lot of them wouldbe available in good off licences kid.

This is the thing. We think we are one of the great beer drinking nations and 99.9% of us drink 5 of the worst kind of pisswater you could imagine. Three of which are’ “brewed” by a shower of Anglo cunts who did all in their power to defeat our fight for freedom and now have people convinced that they are the very definition of Irishness

Fuck me…

Duvel, Brugs whitbeer, westmalle dubble and westmalle triple x 3 for a finish tonight.

Did you see many of the drinkers falling around the place?

Not a sinner… I made that comment to my lady friend. There would be murder on the streets if we were serving grog that strong.

Had a few grand pints of Carling Saturday night

I had Magners yesterday while watching Celtic v Dundee but didn’t really feel it was applicable to this thread.

The Runt, Can you set up the World Ciders appreciation thread

i had 4 cans of carling black label poured into a glass whilst listening to Cork’s demolition of tipp on the wireless on saturday night, as the swamplords would say on here “twas noble”

I’ll accept cider.

Tasted a few over the weekend, again, strong as fuck.

They have some lovely flavoured beers for girls like you, Puke. Kriek Boon and Leifmans on the Rocks are the two big sellers and as near to cider s beer can taste.

Carling is for glue sniffers.

I going to pop down to dunnes to buy a couple of bottles for this evening. Any recommendations for something that they will have? I will probably start with an o’haras pale ale. I could also go to tesco or lidl if they have anything I should change location for.

6 Old Speckled Hens in McHughs tonight for a tenner. That’s a deal.

Cans or bottles? Not a fan of the cans. Beautiful ale though. Bottles are €2 in Aldi on an ongoing basis.

Cans Hannibal. Never had them before. Only ever had the bottles.

Don’t like O Hara’s IPA. Too hoppy for my liking. Fullers one is outstanding IMO.

What did you get in the finish?

8 degrees sunburnt Irish red, brewed in ballyhoura, lovely stuff. Got the o’haras pale ale and the Leann follain as well. Think I’ll try the stout next.
