Nah kid, I’m in Kerry. You’ve let the cat out of the bag now. Where is banging out bottles for 2.50?
Carraig Dubh. A simply superb stout from somewhere in Dingle. Absolutely fucking gorgeous. The offy in Portmarnock stocks it but you have to ask for it. Pricey as hell,4€ or so but worth every penny.
Try it.

Nice one Juhy…
As an aside, I saw a Tom Crean ‘antarctic’ larger for sale in a shop in Killarney … anyone ever had or heard about this?
Finished the Carraig Dubh and have have moved on to the 8degrees porter. Not really fair on the porter as it’s decent enough but the Carraig Dubh leaves it for dead. Must tryit again.
Actually, the 8 degrees is lovely but it’s like watching Wayne Rooney after watching Messi, he’s good, but you know there’s a class above elsewhere.

Seen it in McHughs last night. 4.2% alcohol. As a rule I wouldn’t touch any beer that’s less than 5%.
the nearest offie to us in dooradoyle/ballykeeffe
ChocolateMice or any other aficionado, would you know of any place in Limerick stocking chimay blue? I think this is what I was drinking in the salt house in Galway recently and it was delicious.
I would really like a couple of nice bottles of beer right now but have none in the house and tea isn’t cutting it. Debating getting up to drive to the shop.
Macs on the Ennis road used to do it. Not sure if they still do.
I was sure I had a bottle of O’Hara’s in the fridge but to my dismay I don’t.
I had Blue Moon again at the weekend. I didn’t like it, wouldn’t be bothered getting it again.

Yet you forced me to have it.
Ya, I thought I liked it but when the ladyfriend saw me with the bottle she said “why did you order that? you didn’t like it the last time you had it”. She was right.

Funny, I thought I had a bottle of blue moon but I didn’t. I really liked it in bottles, had a pint of it recently and wasn’t that impressed.
Cheers hannibal, I’m going nowhere now but I’ll check it out tomo. Having a glass of wine instead.

Very underwhelming alright. One bottle is ok but anymore is very meh.
Had a bottle of O Hara’s stout last night. Lovely it was.
You won’t be checking out anything tomorrow. Every off licence in the State will be shut down.
Good point. Now I also feel glum.
It’s gas watching people queue to buy liquor today. It’s as if the off licence will be closed for a week.
I was in Superquinn tonight going through the self service checkout with a bag of dog food. Bloke pulls up at the next check out and says you and me we are the only two people in the shop not buying 100 bottles of beer. He then whispered what is it with Irish people and alcohol. I said ah jaysus I know it’s terrible. I hadn’t the heart to tell him I had stocked up in O Briens in Clontarf on the way out.
Pick up anything interesting? How was the Old Speckled Hen out of a can that time?
I would prefer it out of a bottle.
