The Mac and Treatystones Beer Thread

Had a few decent pints of Sierra Nevada in against the grain last night. Lovely stuff. They’d two or three other stronger versions that I didn’t try but will on my next visit.

The local off licence has finally started broadening it’s selection from the usual beers. They have a good range of O’Hara’s now. Picked up a couple of bottle of Leann Follain to have while I ponder whether or not to go to pub for a few later.

I found the Leann follain tough going but strangely nice. The lads above said it got nicer after a few but I only had the one.

Am having a Trappistes Rochefort No 6 here. Found an alcohol shop that brings in stock from Belgium. They put one bottle on display on the shelf then go out the back to get you how ever many you want. 7,5 per cent.

Ya I’m not blown away by it. It’s grand, but I think I’ll enjoy my few pints of Guinness a bit more.

Blue moon is shit I wouldn’t was me tractor with it

Ah it ain’t that bad, but It’s very sweet alright. I’d only be able for a couple.

I’m having a bottle of this now. Turns out it is not the beer I was drinking in Galway but it is very nice. 9%, strong stuff.

It’s great tack alright. Wouldn’t be having too many though. Was it Macs you got it?

Drinking a franziskaner weissbier. Very tasty.

Yeah I won’t have more than one tonight, would love to have a cut off a few of them! No not in macs, fine wines in Catherine St, very good selection in there. I must find out the name of the beer I was trying to think of in the first place though…

Only seeing this now mate. Glad you’ve found it. Bruges Zot dubble is your next mission, or the blond variation will do.

Cheers bro, will this be available in all good off licenses?

Selective ones I’d imagine

Trying to forget about the game at the mo. Had two east India pale ales there, delicious. Having a brew dog IPA now, nice, but the east India was nicer.

Fullers IPA is very good Glas, well worth a try.

The east India is one of the nicest IPAs about I think. There are so many to try. I’ve been drinking a lot of beer the last two weeks though, will have to ease back, affecting the training a bit.

On the brew dog hardcore IPA now. 9.2%. Its quite nice, very earthy.

This very nice stuff, well named.

Got home this evening and Mrs Fitzy had bought a 6 pack of Byron Bay Pale Lager for me as a token of her affection. Beautiful stuff, very mellow beer with a nice hint of citrus.

The IPA is one of my favourite strains of beer. Try the James Squire IPA if any of you get a chance, gorgeaus stuff, fantastic with a nice piece of red meat.

Mrs Fitzy seems like a nice lady.

I am after getting my hands on 2 bottles of master McGrath Irish black stout? Anybody ever had it?
