Guys, can Original Newcastle ale be got anywhere or is it just diageo shite now?
Fuck him
I can get you some pal. I’ll hopefully be in Cork around April direction. Will bring some down if so.
A magnificent can of gargle.
The Newkie Brown never lowered themselves to the small can. And the bottle is always the full pint.
But that’s where the good parts of the story ends. Heineken took over and started brewing it in Holland. They pulled it from Dunnes soon after and was gone for years. It then made a brief reappearance but was soon gone again.
The son gets me a few cans and or bottles in an off licence in Ennis. You can also get it in the Next Door off licence in James’s Street (Back of St. James’s Gate) near Houston Station in Dublin.
The new can says it’s brewed once again in Tadcaster They’ve taken the caramel out if it for safety reasons. I don’t find it the same. This is as close as can be got locally. Cheap enough too.

I want each of your favourite “craft” (basically anything non main stream in Ireland) beer and I’ll order it as part of my Christmas selection box.
I’ll give you two
Galway Bay - Of Foam and Fury
Yellow Belly - Pinot Noir
The Balbec from your neighbouring county is champion, JJs brewery. If you can get your hands on Galway Hooker Citra ** get it. There’s a fine Pale Ale ‘Jack the Lad’ from Reel Deel in Mayo. The following are all unreal too and available up to 8pm in everyone’s favourite pub.
Is the Balbec one called that or Kilmallock? I was in a restaurant lately and they’d some kind of kilmallock bottled lager on the menu, I should have got one. Never seen it elsewhere
Same brewery I’d say. Probably a different beer though
The balbec stuff wasn’t hectic when it first came out. I haven’t tried it since.
I actually have a lovely Real Deel pint glass from a hotel in Westport. Its very decent tack alright, have never seen it outside of on draught in Mayo
That’s a savage collection you have on tap, fair play. The lough Gill and the Hooker citra are the only ones I haven’t tried. I don’t like the regular Galway Hooker.
This is delicious too. Its my new thing
The Lough Gill Armada one is smooth as fuck. They started out with White Hag but there was a falling out apparo. Galway Hooker have been brought out by Connacht Group
What’s with the need to put fruit in everything? May as well have a bottle of Robinsons.
The White Hag fellas are opening a pub out in the airport. Some nice stuff.
The scraggy bay draught is off the richter and had no effect***** on me whatsover to walk in a straight line or hold a lucid conversation
Kinnegar Big Bunny, White Gypsy Banker
The fruit is hardly noticeable. Buy it or don’t, but when I throw a dog a bone I don’t want to know how it tastes.
