Question. Cresoted post and rail fencing (3 rails). How much would you be talking, all in, per metre?

Around eight euros I think. That would be cheap I’d say.

That’s just for supply I take it?

Yes I’d imagine so.

If you can stretch it get the four rails. Much nicer job and a whole lot sturdier. Price him for both and wiggle him down for the four. Cash is king.

By the way there are 2 types of creosote… the safe one which isn’t worth a shite and the cancer one which is great stuff altogether. Some of them will get all high and mighty about the second one but mark my words they have it, they might just be a bit slow to tell you.

You’d see some amount of them leaning after a bit of wind and being Proped up by timber fencing posts. I gave a load to a neighbour after the bad storm a few years ago.

Take that science

What did he make of you taking pictures for the lads on the Internet?

He says if it inspires lads like @TreatyStones and @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy to get up off their holes, then it’ll be very worthwhile indeed.

So much work done in the last couple of days I am absolutely delighted with myself. The place looks marvellous.

Nope it would have been behind me taking me the photo!

What’s the story with getting soil tested? Is it a big job? Expensive?

You know, in relation to what the land is suitable for growing, or not growing.

Where can I get this type of info?

I’d say you need glasses.

It can be a basic enough P,K and Lime or a better analysis that checks the full mineral composition. Depends on what you’re growing. Around 40 for the basic, 100 for the full one.

Ok, thanks for that.
