The Official TFK Father's Issues Thread. I don't know how they do it

Good on you. Iā€™d say the walk did no harm. Have a beer

Get the Mrs to sort it out Mike and go for a pint

Not in the mood for a beer tonight. I might pour myself a small one and leave it at that.

You need to call her out on it lad. Sheā€™s 13 and if she can boil your head at that age your lifeā€™s gonna be one long headwreck. Clamp down hard, set the parameters, turn off the wi-fi, fuck the phone credit, threaten to hunt her pals, withhold pocket money and if she sniffs at her dinner fuck it into the bin.
Do all this tomorrow while the mood continues, no relenting, and announce all this LOUDLYā€¦

Sheā€™ll come to her milk sharpish Iā€™ll guarantee.

I would not do this. Maybe Iā€™m soft but that approach wonā€™t solve anything.

Sit her down for a chat. Ask is everything ok. Tell her your concerns and go from there.

Sounds good to me

If I could get my hands on a couple of brochures for boarding school and leave them lying around the house, it would soften her cough quick enough

She was sick of being nice to you. That was more unnatural than being a brat. Now that she knows your ok she is making up for lost time

Sheā€™s pissing me off. She got away with blue murder particularly during my operation. She reckons that should be the norm now.

Of course I am, Iā€™m merely offering some random draconian options. You can hardly have a child of 13 driving a recovering adult round the twist now can you.

Your input would Iā€™m sure go a long way toward resolving the problem, what with you being an expert on all sorts of issues.

Itā€™s a possibility, in that when thereā€™s a drill/chainsaw/lawnmower/cement mixer wanted Grandad has one. The return spring on these accessories however is often faulty.

Iā€™d say your relentless disregard for the unpopularity of fault finding stood your progeny in good stead

Still here. As with her stroke thereā€™s deterioration with her memory and already impaired mobility. Betwixt and between it took me 4 weeks to paint the house but after a superhuman effort all she can see if fucking dust and the occasional paint spot.
Other than that weā€™re carrying on. Thanks for the enquiry.

It seems like normal service has resumed so my friend!

My father had a stroke at 57. It knocked him off his stride for a few years (confidence mainly) but hes flying it since. Grandkids have helped I think.

He got 55k there a few weeks ago from.some critical illness policy he had that covered his stroke . Hed never claimed but it came up in s financial review.

He bought a ticket for my mam to visit my brother and co in America and 2 lovely colt foals. We will break the young horses while the mother is gallivanting

Are ye goin to Carrick for the big derby tomorrow evening, Iā€™m at home and am tempted, should be a right game.Check out the opposition for the endgame

@iron_mike

She probably suffered during your travails as well kid. Her dad went through major surgery, she was afraid for you bud. A little girls dad is the most important thing in the world. I wouldnā€™t be too harsh here. Especially at that age. Theyā€™ve no coping mechanisms.
