The Official TFK Father's Issues Thread. I don't know how they do it

As @TheUlteriorMotive mentions, pre-book everything well in advance, even meals. You may not get to do what you want to do otherwise. Bring plenty of your own essentials too as they provide very little in the lodges. We did a big shopping before we went down and saved us a lot of hassle.

What did you buy?

The essentials

Sanguli and Cambrils are also worth a look. Did sanguli last year and weā€™ll go back this year

First family holiday I was on where I would have stayed a few more days. The whole set up makes it very relaxing with kids.

Handy out, we brought our 6 month old to Spain 2 years ago. No problem whatsoever. I wouldnā€™t be doing a holiday with a lot of moving around though, just pick a spot and relax there

No theyā€™re not, theyā€™re essential but itā€™s important to break them every once in a while for every bodies benefit

Yeah that sounds very relaxing and not too stressful. It was probably handy having a few family members around to thrown an eye over the 2 toddlers. The short travel time and transfer sounds appealing. Would you have preferred Portugal or Costa Brava. I guess the fact that you are going back to the latter is an answer in itself.
What kind of room type did you go for in Fota? Suite/family room. We have a voucher for there. They have one of the best spas and hydrotherapy pools I have seen.

Final point on Centre Parcs now that I remember it. The spa. My missus and my mateā€™s missus went there while we played laser tag with the kids and thought it was one of nicer spas they have been in in Ireland and worth the trip.

We were then able to have a few beers after laser tag in the sports bar while the kids played video games in the old style arcade.

Brownie points all round to be used another time for little effort on our part truth be told.

So arrange a trip to the spa to coincide with an activity and you can do likewise.

We had a voucher tooā€¦we had rented one of the houseā€™s beside the golf course and her parents came down for two night and we stayed in the hotel for them two night nightā€™sā€¦
Ya Costa brava, were going for 10 nights this time rater than 7ā€¦itā€™s a very chilled holiday and your not stuck to doing thing at a set timeā€¦

We did Parknasilla ( House ) last year and the eldest is mad to go back, Mammy can fuck with her Longford ideas.

Itā€™s a grand spot as you can drive to a heap of spots within an hour but the weather is the spanner in the works. Having access to the Hotel and pool a big advantage though and playground close by and a beach a major plus.

Leave baby at home if using that voucher, itā€™s not worth it trying to go back to room for bedtime etc. Canā€™t watch tv or just tip toeing around room isnā€™t worth it.

Yeah was thinking the same. Would be a waste and stressful to all concerned.

I was led down there before and I would have had a better nights sleep at home. Not worth it.

I just booked Aghadoe for our first family Superbowl getaway. 2 nights Sunday/Monday. Mrs will use spa, and thereā€™s a small pool there for family fun. The little one falls in with whatever we do so I wouldnā€™t be stressing too much about these things, lots of people seem very stern about routines and the likes, sheā€™s 6 months, sheā€™ll find her wayā€¦ Yours is even younger.
Once thereā€™s a boob close at hand sheā€™ll be fineā€¦ Iā€™ll watch the bowl with headphones and the laptop tho, as it will the mrs kicking off due to noise at that hour. Hopefully I remember to pick up some treats that day.

Dead right, youā€™ll fuck up if you get too set on routines, youā€™ll never get anything done

We hit Fota at c. 7 months and twas handy enough. The only thing is to bring food etc as sheā€™ll be on solids. Enjoy

If youā€™re in a hotel you could surely watch it down at the bar. Watching 5 hours of ads on a laptop would be fairly tedious

They donā€™t have a TV at the bar, mateā€¦ This is 5 star.
