Guys I was upset by that news report on the the inquest of the 4-year who died in the crĆØche in Cork. He had autism, was non verbal and had an SNA for 4 hours per day. He wasnāt well and fell asleep at 11.15am in an outside ātree houseā which was regarded as his safe place in the crĆØche. The SNA finished up for the day an hour later and he was still asleep. The other staff members apparently checked on him now and again after that by looking through the cracks/slats in the wood without going into him, but he was dead after a further two hours due to a viral infection. There wasnāt a specific sleep monitoring policy for a child of his age, but babies/toddlers were checked every 10 minutes as they slept. Very sad.
